Job summary

Surbana Jurong Group is seeking a Resident Technical Officer (M&E) to supervise construction on site in Singapore. You will work with Consultants and Clients to ensure quality, safety and conformance with drawings and specifications.

You should hold an ITE/ Diploma in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering and be registered with IES or ACES, with 5–8 years of M&E experience. Strong coordination and communication skills are essential for success.

Qualifications

• ITE/Diploma in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering and registered as Resident Technical Officer with IES/ACES.
• Minimum 5–8 years of M&E experience as a Resident Technical Officer.
• Familiar with local construction practices in air-conditioning, electrical, ELV, fire protection, plumbing and Sanitary services, BMS.

Responsibilities

• Assist Consultants/Professional Engineers (M&E)/Clients in supervising construction works on site.
• Provide standing supervision as required by Consultants/Clients.
• Ensure installation methods and materials comply with approved drawings and specs.
• Coordinate with RE and RTO of other disciplines.
• Coordinate with contractors/sub-contractors on site works.
• Highlight discrepancies and monitor M&E progress on site.
• Report progress and irregularities to Consultants/Clients.
• Attend site meetings, inspections, testing and commissioning.
• Check as-built drawings match site installations.
• Ensure safety, cleanliness and tidiness on site.
• Document site records such as inspection and test records, meetings.

• Provide standing supervision as and when required by the Consultants / Clients;
• Ensure all installation methods and material used are in accordance with the approved drawings and specifications;
• Liaise and close coordination with RE and RTO of other disciplines;
• Liaise with the contractors/ sub-contractors in the coordination of site works;
• Highlight discrepancies, resolve site M&E issues and monitor site progress;
• Feedback site progress and irregularities to Consultants / Clients;
• Attend site meetings, site inspections, testing and commissioning;
• Check as-built drawings to tally with site installation;
• Ensure the contractors maintain work safety, cleanliness and tidiness of the site;
• Document site records, ie. Inspection records, T&C records, site meetings etc.

Requirements

• ITE/Diploma in Mechanical / Electrical Engineering from a recognized institution and registered with IES / ACES as a Resident Technical Officer
• Minimum 5-8 years of M&E work experience as a Resident Technical Officer
• Conversant in local construction practices in air-conditioning, electrical, ELV, fire protection, plumbing and sanitary services, BMS
• Good co-ordination skills
• Good analytical ability with strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Self-motivated, proactive and team player
