Job summary

CLSA Singapore Pte Ltd is seeking a Research Associate to support our research function in the office. You will coordinate research activities and work with Senior Analysts on projects and client requests.

The role involves report writing, financial modelling, maintaining databases, and conducting fundamental research on companies. You will contribute as an integral team member and share ideas for the team's development.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree or higher in business-related discipline, finance or accounting preferred.
• Minimum 2 years experience as a Research Associate or similar in a large accounting firm.
• Strong understanding of financial modelling.
• Excellent Excel/spreadsheet skills.
• Excellent verbal and written English; interpersonal sensitivity and commercial awareness.

Responsibilities

• Perform due diligence, write research reports and condense ideas in PowerPoint
• Perform financial modelling
• Collect data and compile answers for clients' requests
• Maintain databases of economic and industry data
• Assist in fundamental research on companies

Position Description

The Research Associate is responsible for providing support to the research function in the office. The incumbent is primarily responsible for coordinating research activities and working with Senior Analysts on research projects and client Requests. The research activities include report writing, financial modelling, maintaining multiple data bases and fundamental research on companies.

The Research Associate should view their role as an integral part of the team’s success. Effective teamwork contributors; actively generate ideas for the teams development; communicate issues that require action; support each other and ask for help when needed.

Key Areas of Responsibilities

• Assist Senior Analysts on specific research projects
• Perform due diligence, writing research reports and condensing research ideas in PP
• Perform financial modelling
• Collect data and compile answers for clients requests
• Maintain databases of economic and industry specific data
• Assist in fundamental research on companies
• Accompany clients on visits; produce notes on all visits
• Maintain sound working relationships with Corporates, Clients, the Government, and industry organizations

Requirements

• Bachelor degree or above in Business related discipline, preferably with Finance and/or Accounting major
• Minimum 2 years experience as a Research Associate or related experience in large Accountancy firm is an added advantage
• Sound understanding of financial modelling
• Strong Excel/ spreadsheet skills
• Excellent Problem solving and analytical Skills
• Excellent Interpersonal Sensitivity
• High sense of Commercial Awareness
• Excellent command of both spoken and written English
