Job summary

NHG Health is seeking a Research Assistant to support a multi-study project evaluating an acute crisis intervention model. You will assist clinical psychologists, conduct literature reviews, recruit participants from the IMH Emergency Room, collect and manage data, and handle study documentation under supervision.

The ideal candidate holds a degree in social sciences, psychology, public health, or related fields, with at least 1 year of research experience and familiarity with ethics submission

Qualifications

  • Degree in social sciences, psychology, public health, or a related field.
  • Minimum 1 year experience in a research setting.
  • Have some experience in data management and governance.
  • Familiar with research ethics submission processes and protocols (e.g., informed consent taking).
  • Able to work well independently and effectively within a team.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct literature reviews and prepare measures and/or interview questions.
  • Prepare and submit study amendments, study status reports and other necessary documents to relevant research review committees and/or funding agencies, and liaise with them as the study administrator.
  • Recruit participants e.g., from the IMH Emergency Room, including contacting potential participants and obtaining informed consent.
  • Collect data by scheduling and conducting semi-structured interviews, administering questionnaires and through chart reviews.
  • Transcribe interviews and score questionnaires; data entry and analysis for quantitative and qualitative data.
  • Manage study database across multiple time points, safeguarding the confidentiality of participants.
  • Attend required training sessions.
  • Administrative duties such as maintaining research-related documents, ensuring all logistics and acquiring necessary supplies, providing administrative support for volunteers, making claims and reimbursements, note-taking for project meetings, etc.
  • Any other duties assigned by supervisors.
