Job summary

Ethos is seeking experienced Japanese translators to train AI language models on professional documents, spreadsheets, and slide decks. You will create, evaluate, and refine AI-generated materials across business workflows, with emphasis on accuracy, tone, and terminology management.

Fully remote, 5-20 hours per week, ASAP start. Compensation is $100/hour for skilled, high-stakes translation and cross-cultural review work.

Qualifications

• 4+ years in professional Japanese-English translation, localization, or bicultural business communications.
• Native or near-native fluency in Japanese, with direct experience reviewing high-stakes Japanese-language business or legal materials.
• Expert-level document, spreadsheet, and slide craftsmanship, with excellent written communication and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Create, evaluate, and refine AI-generated documents, spreadsheets, and slide decks.
• Conduct localization and tone-adaptation QA for professional materials.
• Assess cultural-context and etiquette, and manage terminology and glossaries.
