Job summary

Nippon Shokubai (Asia) Pte. Ltd. seeks an experienced General Manager to lead regional marketing and business development for Nippon Shokubai Group products in Southeast Asia and India, with paints and coatings as a core growth pillar.

The role demands a rare blend of technical know-how, marketing leadership and commercial acumen in paints, coatings, adhesives, and related application technologies, and requires collaboration with R&D, marketing and sales across Japan and the region.

Qualifications

• 20+ years of hands-on R&D experience in paints, adhesives, emulsion polymers or related industries.
• 2+ years of practical sales and development experience in paints, adhesives or related applications within the last 2 years.
• 5+ years in a managerial role coordinating R&D, marketing and sales across regions.
• Experience in overseas business expansion in ASEAN and India.
• Hands-on knowledge of resins, additives and formulation technologies for paints/coatings/adhesives.
• Business-level English and Japanese (JLPT N1) for technical/commercial discussions.
• Willingness to travel within ASEAN, India and Japan.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development and execution of regional marketing strategy for Southeast Asia and India, with paints/coatings as a growth pillar.
• Identify growth opportunities through market research and customer engagement with R&D, technical and procurement functions.
• Develop technically differentiated proposals aligning with product development and commercialization plans.
• Coordinate with R&D, marketing and sales in Japan to translate regional needs into product development.
• Lead new application exploration and market development projects, managing a prioritized pipeline.
• Oversee handover of opportunities to sales for negotiations while continuing regional support.
