Job summary

UTAC Singapore is looking for a Senior Associate Engineer – Equipment Engineering (R&D SMT) to set up and optimize SMT equipment for prototype and new product development. You will collaborate closely with R&D, process, and product engineering teams to enable flexible, accurate, and timely build execution.

You will prepare machines for trials, configure lines for experimental builds, and provide hands-on support during engineering builds.

Qualifications

Diploma in Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, Mechatronics Engineering is required.
2–5 years of experience in SMT equipment engineering, NP I, or R&D support.
Hands-on experience with SMT equipment and line changeovers is preferred.
Knowledge of SPI/AOI systems is advantageous.

Responsibilities

Set up SMT equipment to support R&D, prototype builds and validation runs.
Prepare machines for new product trials, including program setup, feeder prep and line configuration.
Provide hands-on support during engineering builds and troubleshoot equipment issues.
Collaborate with R&D and Process Engineers to optimize equipment setups and run process trials.
Document setup configurations and learnings from development builds.
