Job summary

STRENGTH PTE. LTD. seeks a Quantity Surveyor to prepare and manage tender documents, perform quantity take-offs from drawings, and develop cost estimates for interior design projects.

The ideal candidate holds a Diploma/Degree in Quantity Surveying, with fresh graduate to 3 years’ experience in main building tenders, and the ability to read specifications and drawings under

Qualifications

  • Diploma/Degree in Quantity Surveying required.
  • Fresh graduates or 1–3 years' experience in main building tenders.
  • Good ability to read specifications and building drawings.
  • Able to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Meticulous, independent, good communication, and a team player.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare, maintain and manage tender documents including BOQ, clarifications and unit prices.
  • Carry out quantities take-off; measure quantities from drawings.
  • Prepare proposals and quotations for customers.
  • Evaluate price comparisons and costing summaries.
  • Prepare tender documents for subcontractors/vendors for quotations.
  • Source quotations for trade works including price comparison and cost analysis.
  • Raise tender queries/design discrepancies timely for clarification.
  • Ensure supplier equipment selections and subcontractor quotes meet tender requirements.
  • Prepare accurate cost estimates for interior design projects (materials, labour, equipment and related costs).
  • Handle tender correspondences and addenda to reflect changes.
  • Conduct technical review on supplier/contractor quotations to ensure compliance.
  • Review tender addenda/corrigenda and update costing summary with technical proposals.
  • Prepare monthly progress claims to customers.
  • Prepare/verify/upkeep of project variation work and site instructions.
  • Assist in compiling tender submissions including tender qualification.
  • Perform other QS duties as assigned.

Job description

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Prepare, maintain and management of tender documents comprises of BOQ, tender clarifications and unit prices etc.
  • To carry out taking off quantities; Measure of quantities from drawings.
  • Prepare proposal and quotation to customer.
  • Evaluation of price comparison and costing summary.
  • Prepare tender documents to subcontractor / vendor for quotations.
  • To source quotations for relevant trade works including price comparison and cost analysis;
  • Ability to raise tender queries/ design discrepancies timely for clarification;
  • Ensure all Suppliers equipment selection and Subcontractors quote meets tender requirements.
  • Prepare accurate cost estimates for interior design (ID) projects, taking into account materials, labour, equipment, and other related costs.
  • Ability to handle tender correspondences and addendum to update changes made to tender documents;
  • Technical review on the supplier/contractor quotation or proposal and makes sure that all requirements are complied.
  • Review tender addendum, corrigendum and post tender addendum drawings and documents and update costing summary with technical proposal accordingly.
  • Preparation of monthly progress claims to customer.
  • Prepare / verification / upkeep of project variation work and site instructions.
  • To assist in compilation of tender submission including tender qualification; and
  • To perform other QS duties as assigned.
Requirements:
  • Required Skills: Cost Estimation & Budgeting, Tender Negotiations, Measurement & Quantity Take-off, Cost Control & Management, Value Engineering, Contract Administration, Documentation & Records, Compliance & Regulations, Communication & Collaboration.
  • Possess Diploma/Degree in Quantity Surveying;
  • Fresh graduate/ 1-3 years' working experience related to main building tenders;
  • Good knowledge of reading specifications and building drawings;
  • Able to work under pressure and meet tight deadline;
  • Meticulous, independent with good communicative skills; and a team player.
