Job summary

JOB LIONS PTE. LTD. Singapore is seeking a Quantity Surveyor with at least 2 years of construction experience.

You will coordinate procurement activities for projects, request quotations, compare prices, negotiate, and oversee post-award documentation to protect project budgets. You will assist in developing site budgets, gather market pricing for trades, and maintain price databases to keep RPO rates and forecasts within reasonable limits.

Qualifications

• 2 years of relevant construction experience.
• Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Quantity Surveying, Building Construction Management, or a related discipline.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate procurement activities for projects: request quotes, compare prices, negotiate, process orders, and maintain post-award docs.
• Assist in developing site budgets to ensure project expenses stay within allocated funds.
• Obtain quotations and market pricing for trades to update RPO rates and budget forecasts.
• Get additional quotations for comparisons and verify exclusions to prevent extra costs.
• Update trade award status against master programme and coordinate with site staff.
• Negotiate pricing and terms before awards.
• Obtain quotations for price date and update charts.
• Develop statistics and data files for completed projects.
• Record and check site expenses against the budget, confirming substantiations.
• Draft general letters and track correspondence references.
• Share information and collaborate with the team to meet department targets.
• Perform other QS-related duties as assigned.

Job description

Job Descriptions:

1. Coordinate procurement activities for all projects, including requesting quotations, conducting price comparisons and negotiations, processing purchase orders and overseeing all related documentation post-award.
2. Assist in developing site budget for new awarded projects to ensure project expenses are within budget allocated.
3. Obtain quotation and market pricings for all trades to update pricing database to ensure Requisition of Purchase Order (RPO) rates and future budget rates are within reasonable limit.
4. Obtain additional quotations for comparisons and check exclusions in the quotations for RPO from sites to prevent future additional costs.
5. Coordinate and compile updates for trade award status tabulation against master programme and coordinate with site staff.
6. Negotiation of pricing and terms & conditions prior to award.
7. Obtain quotations for price date and chart update.
8. Develop statistics and data compilation file for completed project.
9. Recording and checking of site expenses and adjustments against set budget including checking of proper excess cost substantiations are provided.
10. Drafting of general letters including keep track of all correspondence references.
11. Sharing of information and work together in a team to achieve department target and goals.
12. To perform other QS-related duties and responsibilities as may be assigned from time to time.
