Job summary

JIN CHOON CIVIL ENGINEERING PTE. LTD. is seeking a Quantity Surveyor to manage costing, tendering and budget control for building projects. You will take-off quantities, prepare cost plans and liaise with clients and internal teams on monthly progress payments and claims.

The ideal candidate has a degree in QS and at least 2 years of experience, with strong communication and multi‑tasking abilities. This role reports to the project team and offers a hands-on environment in Singapore.

Responsibilities

• Take off quantities and costing for pre‑tender estimates, variation orders, claims and final accounts.
• Prepare price comparisons and project costing sheets.
• Study drawings and specs to understand requirements for design changes and claims.
• Coordinate with client and internal team on monthly progress payments and substantiation.
• Prepare documents for subcontract tendering, evaluate tenders and recommend awards.
• Certify subcontractors’ monthly progress claims and evaluate variations.
• Operate cost control system for budget monitoring and tracking.
• Exercise good budget control and monitoring.
• Cashflow knowledge is a plus.
• Perform other duties as assigned by reporting officer.

Responsibilities:

• Taking off quantities and costing for pre-tender estimate, variation order, claim, re-measurement and final account
• Prepare price comparison and project costing sheet
• Study drawings, specifications to understand project requirements for design change, claim and variation order
• Prepare, collate and liaise with client and internal project team on monthly progress payment claim and substantiation
• Prepare document for sourcing of quotations and calling of sub-contract tender including tender evaluation, recommending award and preparing sub-contract document
• Certify sub-contractors’ monthly progress claim and evaluate variation works
• Operate cost control system for budget monitoring and tracking
• Exercise good budget control and monitoring
• Knowledge in cashflow projection is a plus
• Any other duties as assigned by reporting officer
