Job summary

Foodmax is seeking a Quality Control Executive to oversee fresh fruits and vegetables from inbound receiving through storage to picking and dispatch. You will ensure deliveries meet freshness, compliance, and quality standards.

The role involves night shifts, six days a week with one day off, and collaboration across procurement, warehouse, picking, logistics and sales to improve the supply chain quality.

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in Food Science, Food Safety, Biology, Agriculture or a related field.
• Experience in fresh produce receiving or quality control recommended.
• Knowledge of inbound inspection, storage QC and supplier audit processes.
• Familiar with HACCP or ISO 22000 and data analysis basics.
• Ability to write SOPs and receiving standards independently.

Responsibilities

• Inspect incoming fruits and vegetables against receiving standards for freshness, size, ripeness, and temperature.
• Regularly check chiller and ambient storage to identify spoilage and ensure FIFO/FEFO.
• Supervise picking, packing and order assembly; spot-check outbound quality and quantity.
• Investigate quality incidents and customer complaints; coordinate returns and supplier claims.
• Participate in supplier audits and share inbound quality data with suppliers.
• Develop and improve receiving standards and QC SOPs; train staff.
• Track quality metrics and prepare reports; collaborate with procurement, warehouse, logistics and sales.
• Ensure compliance with Singapore Food Agency requirements and internal audits.

We are looking for a Quality Control Executive to manage the quality of our fresh fruits and vegetables from inbound receiving and storage through to picking and dispatch. You will make sure every delivery to our customers is fresh, compliant and meets our quality standards.

About the role： night shift，

Working 6 days a week, with 1 day off

Key responsibilities

• Inspect incoming fruits and vegetables against receiving standards, including freshness, size, ripeness, visual quality and temperature. Report results promptly, and handle rejections, conditional acceptance or returns for non-conforming products.

• Inspect chiller and ambient storage areas regularly to identify spoilage, deterioration, dehydration or chilling injury. Stop non-conforming products from being dispatched, and enforce FIFO (first-in, first-out) and FEFO (first-expired, first-out) practices.

• Supervise picking, packing and order assembly. Spot-check outbound products for quality, specifications and quantity to ensure they meet customer and company standards.

• Investigate quality incidents, batch issues and customer complaints. Identify root causes, and follow through on returns, replacements and supplier claims.

• Take part in supplier audits and site visits, keep supplier quality records, and share inbound quality data with suppliers regularly to drive improvement.

• Develop and improve receiving standards, quality grading criteria and quality control SOPs. Train warehouse and picking staff on quality requirements.

• Track quality metrics such as inbound acceptance rate, storage wastage rate and customer complaint rate, and prepare quality reports. Work with the Procurement, Warehouse, Picking, Logistics and Sales teams to improve quality across the supply chain.

• Ensure storage and operations comply with Singapore Food Agency (SFA) requirements and the company's food safety management system, and support internal and external audits.

• Take on other fresh produce quality and supply chain tasks as assigned.

About you

• Diploma or degree in Food Science, Food Safety, Biology, Agriculture or a related field is preferred.

• At least 2 years of experience in fresh produce receiving or quality control.

• Strong knowledge of fresh produce quality assessment, including the origins, seasonality, specifications and storage requirements of common fruits and vegetables.

• Familiar with inbound inspection, in-storage quality control and supplier audit processes, and able to write SOPs and receiving standards independently.

• Knowledge of food safety management systems such as HACCP and ISO 22000.

• Basic data analysis skills and proficiency in Excel.

• Good written and spoken English.

• Detail-oriented and responsible, with a strong commitment to quality standards and good communication skills to resolve issues across teams.

• Able to work in chiller and warehouse environments, and willing to work early morning or rotating shifts, as fresh produce deliveries typically arrive early in the day.
