The QA Manager is responsible for leading the Quality Assurance function, with oversight of Quality Management System (QMS), Customer Quality Engineering (CQE), Failure Analysis (FA), and Reliability (REL). The role will establish, implement, and continuously improve the company’s quality management systems and processes, while driving a strong quality culture across the organization.
Candidates with relevant experience in a semiconductor manufacturing environment, particularly in QMS, customer quality, failure analysis, and reliability, are preferred.
Key Responsibilities:
Quality leadership and Culture
- Build a strong quality culture based on ownership, discipline, and continuous improvement.
- Set quality priorities, objectives, and KPIs aligned with company business goals.
- Train, coach, develop and cultivate technical competencies to ensure capability of designated employees to maintain and comply with quality standards.
Quality Management System (QMS)
- Management Representative for Quality Management System.
- Lead external audits with regulators and customers and follow-up on closure of compliance issues.
- Integrate quality policies to structure quality management system
- Plan and conduct risk assessments & quality control reviews to ensure compliance with all statutory regulatory requirements internal compliance requirements.
- Management of APQP, PPAP, FMEA & Control Plan
- Establish test instrument calibration procedures and maintenance
Failure Analysis (FA) and Reliability (Rel)
- Lead and oversee the FA lab to investigate customer returns, yield issues, and in-process failures.
- Drive root cause analysis (RCA) using techniques; SEM/EDX, X-ray, Curve Trace and Cross-section.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement corrective actions.
- Improve FA methodologies and implement new failure analysis techniques to enhance efficiency.
- Develop and manage reliability test plans (HTOL, HAST, TC, uHAST, etc.) per JEDEC/industry standards.
- Lead qualification programs for new package types, materials, and process changes.
- Identify recurring failure mechanisms and institutionalize lessons learned.
- Ensure compliance with customer and industry reliability requirements.
Customer Quality Engineering (CQE)
- Act as the key customer interface for quality-related issues, customer complaints, RMAs, and audits.
- Lead 8D problem-solving and provide timely responses to customer concerns.
- Conduct risk assessments (FMEA, DOE) for customer-reported issues and process changes.
- Ensure proper documentation and reporting for quality metrics (yield, DPPM, escape rates, etc.).
- Support customer and third-party audits (IATF 16949, ISO 9001, VDA 6.3, etc.).
- Lead communication with customers in quality, customer Spec gap analysis, Spec Implementation, etc. points of view.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in any Engineering discipline.
- Minimum 10 years of QA experience in semiconductor manufacturing, with at least 5 years in a managerial or team lead role.
- Certified auditor in ISO 9001:2015 & IATF 16949 VDA 6.3 Process Audit is preferred, and well-versed with ISO 14001 management systems.
- Possesses analytical ability to structure processes and procedures in fast-pace manufacturing environment, as well as resourcefulness to propose solutions
- Hands-on experience with MSA, GR&R, FMEA, Control Plans, SPC, 8D, and quality software tools (e.g., JMP, Minitab, SAP, Tableau).
- Demonstrated leadership, problem-solving skills, and ability to drive quality culture across functions.
