Job summary

SILICON BOX in Singapore is seeking a QA Engineer (QMS) to establish and lead the Quality Management System for a new startup, coaching teams on quality practices and integrating QMS frameworks across the organization.

The role emphasizes risk assessment, internal audits, ISO 9001:2015 and IATF 16949 readiness, process improvements, and collaboration with cross-functional teams to ensure product quality and regulatory compliance in a semiconductor manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent qualification.
• 5 years of relevant experience in quality management within a semiconductor production environment.
• Certified ISO 9001:2015 and IATF 16949 auditor; certification in VDA 6.3 Process Audit is an added advantage.
• Strong knowledge of IATF core tools, including APQP, PPAP, MSA, SPC, FMEA, and Control Plan.
• Analytical and structured, with the ability to design and implement processes and procedures in a fast-paced manufacturing environment; resourceful in proposing effective solutions.
• Demonstrates strong commitment to quality excellence and customer satisfaction.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate across all levels.
• Strong team player with a collaborative mindset, able to work effectively across departments and build positive working relationships

Responsibilities

• Establish and maintain quality policies, processes, and procedures for a new start-up company.
• Integrate quality policies into a structured and sustainable Quality Management System (QMS).
• Plan and conduct risk assessments and quality control reviews to ensure compliance with statutory, regulatory, customer, and internal requirements.
• Develop internal audit scope and criteria, and lead internal audits according to internal, external, and QMS standards.Lead the implementation and continuous improvement of the Quality Management System.
• Drive ISO 9001 and IATF 16949 certification activities, including documentation, readiness checks, and engagement with stakeholders.
• Lead external audits with regulators, certification bodies, and customers, and manage follow-up actions to close quality compliance issues.
• Lead root cause analysis (RCA) using tools such as 5 Why and Fishbone (Ishikawa) diagrams.
• Train, coach, and develop employees on technical competencies (e.g., standards requirements, IATF core tools) to ensure the organization maintains and complies with quality standards.
• Manage APQP, PPAP, MSA, FMEA, and Control Plan activities to support product and process qualification.
• Establish and manage Change Management procedures, including communication with customers and relevant stakeholders.
• Oversee measuring equipment calibration to ensure proper measurement traceability.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive continual improvement initiatives.
• Perform other ad-hoc tasks assigned by the reporting manager.
