Job summary

H2 Games is seeking a QA Engineer to ensure the quality, reliability, and performance of our platform. You will work closely with engineers to understand new features, identify risks, and build reliable automated tests for our backend services.

This role goes beyond traditional manual testing — we are looking for someone who is comfortable with coding, automation, backend systems, and using AI tools as part of their daily workflow.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field; 1+ year backend testing or QA experience.
• Proficient coding skills in TypeScript or Python; familiarity with API testing frameworks.
• Experience with API testing and automation using frameworks like Jest, Playwright, Pytest; CI/CD awareness.

Responsibilities

• Test backend services (API, performance, stability).
• Own test automation and translate features into reliable API/integration tests in CI pipelines.
• Leverage AI tools to write/improve tests, generate test data, review code, and troubleshoot failures.
• Maintain and improve test environments, data, mocks, and tooling for engineers.
• Investigate bugs with engineers and support releases to improve testing strategy.

We are looking for a QA Engineer to help ensure the quality, reliability, and performance of our platform.

Responsibilities

• Test the backend services of our platform, including API, performance, and stability testing.
• Own test automation and work closely with engineers to understand new features and potential risks, translating them into reliable automated API and integration tests integrated into CI pipelines.
• Leverage AI tools in your daily workflow to write and improve tests, generate test data, review code, analyze logs, and troubleshoot failures.
• Maintain and improve test environments, test data, mocks, and other tools needed by the engineering team.
• Investigate bugs with engineers, support releases, and help continuously improve our testing strategy, tooling, and overall quality engineering practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, with more than 1 year of experience in backend testing, test automation, or quality engineering.
• Good coding skills in at least one programming language. Experience with TypeScript or Python is preferred.
• Hands-on experience with API testing and test automation, using tools or frameworks such as Jest, Playwright, Pytest, or similar.
• Familiar with using AI tools as part of your regular development or testing workflow. You are comfortable providing effective context, reviewing AI-generated code, and validating outputs for correctness and reliability.
• Comfortable working with SQL, ELK, Redis and caching systems, as well as CI/CD pipelines and common backend infrastructure.
• Interested in games and care about the player experience. Experience testing AI-powered features, game backends, or AI-generated content is a plus.
