Job summary

SMC Manufacturing (S) Pte Ltd is seeking a Quality Assurance/Quality Control professional to oversee QA activities on the shop floor in Singapore. You will work with Production QC to implement the quality system, address defects, and drive improvements across processes and products.

Key responsibilities include supervising QA operators, investigating product claims, liaising with suppliers, performing part measurements and testing, and presenting reports to Senior Management.

Responsibilities

• Work with Production QC to implement quality systems and drive improvements.
• Supervise QA operators and plan daily QA activities.
• Investigate product claims and reply with causes and countermeasures.
• Liaise with external suppliers on quality issues.
• Measure parts and conduct product testing.
• Chair quality meetings and coordinate with production to resolve issues.
• Collect and analyze quality data using SPC tools.
• Oversee calibration of in-house and external equipment.
• Prepare and present reports to Senior Management.
• Initiate and implement Continuous Improvement projects.
• Implement and maintain ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and IATF 1619 systems.
• Budget planning and cost controls related to quality activities.

The Role:

• Work closely with Production QC to ensure implementation of quality system, rectify quality issues and initiate improvements.
• Supervise QA operators and plan daily QA job activities
• Investigate product claim and reply customer on Cause and Countermeasure
• Liaise with external supplier on quality issues
• Perform measurement of parts and product testing
• Chair quality meeting and liaise with production on solving quality issues.
• Collect and analyse quality data using statistical control tools
• Oversee in-house and external equipment calibration
• Prepare and present reports to Senior Management
• Initiate and implement Continuous Improvement projects
• ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and IATF 1619 system implementation and maintenance
• Budget Planning
