Responsibilities

  • Perform First Article Inspection (FAI) for new suppliers and changes.
  • Support supplier, incoming, and manufacturing quality activities.
  • Review inspection reports and ensure compliance with drawings.
  • Develop inspection plans, sampling plans and acceptance criteria.
  • Support customer quality investigations, 8D/CAPA, and corrective actions.
  • Assist audits, SPC data review, and quality reporting.

Job description

Job Purpose

The Quality Assurance Engineer is responsible for ensuring product and process quality across supplier, incoming, manufacturing, and customer-facing activities. This role supports supplier quality, customer quality, inspection control, corrective action, performance monitoring, and continuous improvement to minimize quality risks and non-conforming products.

The QA Engineer will perform assigned activities under the guidance of the QA Manager and relevant senior personnel, with responsibilities expanded progressively based on competency and training completion.

Key Responsibilities
1. First Article Inspection (FAI) & Quality Planning
  • Perform First Article Inspection (FAI) for new suppliers, new/revised components, and new product or process changes.
  • Support complete documentation, review, approval, and requalification activities for FAI.
  • Measure components, review inspection reports, and validate compliance with drawings, specifications, and customer requirements.
  • Develop, review, and maintain inspection plans, inspection methods, sampling plans, acceptance criteria, and visual standards.
2. Supplier Quality & Incoming Quality Control
  • Coordinate with suppliers and internal teams on supplier quality issues, non-conformances, and corrective actions.
  • Perform or support incoming quality inspection for purchased parts, raw materials, and critical materials.
  • Ensure non-conforming materials are properly identified, segregated, reported, and dispositioned.
  • Support the issuance and tracking of Supplier Corrective Action Requests (SCAR/CAR), including verification of corrective-action effectiveness.
  • Support supplier self-assessments, audits, supplier development, and performance-improvement activities.
  • Track Supplier Performance Indicators (SPI) and follow up with key suppliers on KPI targets and gaps.
3. Customer Quality & Complaint Management
  • Support investigation and timely response to customer complaints, customer returns (RMA), return-to-vendor (RTV), quality alerts, and customer corrective-action requests.
  • Support containment actions, sorting/rework controls, root-cause analysis, preparation of 8D/CAPA reports, recovery plans, and effectiveness verification.
  • Communicate investigation findings, quality status, and closure evidence with customers and internal cross-functional teams.
  • Support customer audits, product/process reviews, and customer-specific quality requirements.
4. Manufacturing Quality & Non-Conforming Product Control
  • Support in-process, final, and outgoing quality activities, including inspection, measurement, SPC/data review, and verification of process controls.
  • Verify Line Reject Notes (LRN), inspection rejects, and quality incidents with supporting evidence and photographs where required.
  • Support Production, Engineering, Warehouse, Purchasing, and other functions on day-to-day quality issues.
5. Quality Reporting, QMS & Documentation Management
  • Prepare incoming, outgoing, customer, supplier, reject, and monthly quality performance reports.
  • Analyze trends on defects, rejects, customer complaints, and supplier performance; present findings to management and relevant departments.
  • Upload, update, and maintain quality records and controlled documents in ETQ or related systems.
  • Support document revision and change-management activities, audit evidence preparation, and compliance with quality-system requirements.
6. Continuous Improvement & Other Activities
  • Participate in continuous improvement, cost-reduction, defect-prevention, and risk-reduction initiatives.
  • Support internal, customer, certification, regulatory, and supplier audits.
  • Perform other quality-related duties as assigned.
Qualifications & Requirements
Education
  • Diploma / Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Quality Management, or related field.
Experience
  • Fresh graduates are welcome to apply. Candidates with relevant internship, project, manufacturing, or quality-related exposure will have an advantage.
  • Structured on-the-job training and guidance will be provided for quality systems, inspection methods, documentation, and job-specific responsibilities.
Technical Skills
  • Basic knowledge of, or willingness to learn, inspection methods, measurement tools, sampling plans, SPC, and basic statistical analysis.
  • Basic familiarity with ISO 9001, ISO 13485, IATF 16949, or relevant customer/regulatory requirements is an advantage; training will be provided where applicable.
  • Ability to read engineering drawings, specifications, GD&T, and inspection/measurement reports.
  • Proficient in MS Excel, reporting tools, and quality systems (ETQ preferred).
Soft Skills
  • Strong communication and stakeholder-management skills.
  • Good analytical, root-cause analysis, and problem-solving ability.
  • Able to work independently and in cross-functional teams.
  • Detail-oriented and well-organized.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
  • Timely completion of assigned inspection, report, and follow-up activities.
  • Accuracy and completeness of quality records and ETQ entries.
  • On-time tracking of assigned SCAR/CAR, complaint, and corrective-action tasks.
  • Completion of required training and competency assessment during probation.
  • Participation in assigned quality-improvement projects and corrective-action effectiveness verification.
Work Environment
  • Office, warehouse, and production floor environment.
  • Occasional supplier and customer site visits, audits, and meetings may be required.
  • May require extended hours during critical quality issues or customer escalations.
