Job summary

FOCAL SEARCH PTE. LTD. is seeking a purchasing assistant in Singapore to help source vendors, prepare quotes, and issue purchase orders. You will coordinate with internal teams to understand needs and ensure timely deliveries.

The role requires basic procurement knowledge, strong teamwork, and proficiency in MS Office. Hybrid setup offered after confirmation, with company transport services and a performance bonus opportunity.

Qualifications

• NITEC or equivalent diploma required; relevant purchasing exposure is a plus.
• Strong teamwork and communication skills to coordinate with vendors and internal teams.
• Basic procurement process knowledge and a willingness to learn.

Responsibilities

• Source and obtain quotes from vendors for required purchases.
• Create and send purchase orders to suppliers.
• Track lead times, deliveries, and order status with vendors.
• Maintain price lists, supplier relationships, and purchase records.
• Collaborate with internal departments to clarify purchasing needs.
• Verify deliveries and address discrepancies with suppliers.

Responsibility:

• Help in sourcing and acquiring quotes from vendors.
• Create and send out purchase orders.
• Check in with vendors regarding lead times, deliveries, and order status.
• Maintain track of price lists, supplier relationships, and purchase information.
• Work together with internal departments to comprehend the needs for purchases.
• Verify deliveries and address any inconsistencies with suppliers.
• Assistance in keeping an eye on inventory levels and restocking requirements.

Requirements:

• NITEC, Higher NITEC, a diploma, or a comparable credential.
• Any prior expertise in purchasing, administration, or a similar industry is advantageous.
• Strong teamwork and communication abilities.
• Fundamental familiarity with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook).
• Well-organized, meticulous, and open to learning.
• Knowledge of fundamental procurement procedures.
• Interest in technical, offshore, or maritime fields.
