Job summary

Salt is seeking a Public Policy Manager for an 8-month contract to oversee legislative and policy analysis, advocacy support, and regulatory readiness. The role requires coordinating with cross-functional teams to develop scalable policy solutions and drive alignment on content regulation strategy.

You will engage stakeholders across policy, legal, and engineering teams to respond to evolving regulatory guidance and help shape practical, compliant approaches globally.

Qualifications

• 7–10 years of experience in public policy or government institutions (government agencies, regulators, legislatures, think tanks, NGOs, or advocacy).
• Experience in internet technologies, security, privacy, integrity, safety, content moderation policy environments.

Responsibilities

• Support global content regulation strategy and policy alignment to influence regulatory outcomes.
• Respond to regulatory developments affecting the company with legislative analysis and advocacy strategy.
• Partner with engineering, product, reg readiness and operations to identify compliance gaps and co-design scalable solutions.

Job description

We are looking for a Public Policy Managerfor a social media client for 8 months & renewable contract role. The role combines legislative and policy analysis, advocacy support, and regulatory readiness with cross-functional program execution. You will be involved in policy discussions regarding regulatory requirements and follow-up on guidance and co-develop practical, scalable solutions.

What you’ll do:

• Support the team’s goals to drive company alignment on global content regulation strategy and policy to positively influence regulatory outcomes.
• Support the team’s response to regulatory developments impacting the company (e.g. legislative analysis, regulatory readiness, and advocacy strategy).
• Partner with engineering, product, reg readiness and operations teams to identify compliance gaps and co-design practical, scalable solutions.
• Engage stakeholders and subject matter experts within policy and across the XFN — including legal and integrity — to build consensus on compliance approaches.

What you’ll need:

• 7 to 10 years of experience engaging or working in public policy or government institutions, such as government agencies, independent regulators, legislative bodies, or in think tanks, NGOs, or advocacy roles.
• Relevant work experience in internet technologies, security, privacy, integrity, safety, content moderation and the surrounding policy environments, ideally including emphasis on freedom of expression and/or content regulation.
• Policy stakeholder engagement and advocacy experience, including both oral and written communication
• Experience in project or program management that includes cross-functional collaboration domestically and/or internationally.
• Demonstrated ability to work on sensitive topics and responsibly manage sensitive material and relationships
