Job summary

Metro Global in Singapore seeks a Public Area Supervisor to oversee the PA team, ensuring clean, safe, and welcoming public areas across the hotel, including lobbies and restrooms.

You will assign duties, monitor performance, uphold housekeeping SOPs, coordinate with Front Office and Engineering, and train staff to maintain high presentation and guest service standards.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of supervisory experience in hotel housekeeping.
• Strong knowledge of cleaning procedures and safety.
• Excellent guest-service oriented mindset.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate the daily operations of the Public Area (PA) team.
• Ensure all public areas, including lobbies, corridors, lifts, restrooms, function areas and other designated areas, are cleaned and maintained to the hotel's required standards.
• Conduct regular inspections of public areas to ensure cleanliness, hygiene and presentation standards are consistently maintained.
• Assign daily duties and work schedules to PA attendants and monitor their work performance.
• Ensure all cleaning procedures are carried out according to the hotel's Housekeeping SOP and safety requirements.
• Monitor the use and proper handling of cleaning equipment, chemicals and supplies.
• Report any maintenance issues, defects or safety hazards to the relevant department for follow-up.
• Respond promptly to guest requests, feedback and complaints relating to public area cleanliness.
• Coordinate with other departments, particularly Front Office and Engineering, to ensure smooth daily operations.
• Train, coach and guide PA team members on cleaning procedures, service standards and workplace safety.
• Monitor staff attendance, grooming, punctuality and overall performance.
• Ensure proper housekeeping equipment and supplies are available and stored appropriately.
• Maintain accurate records and complete daily checklists and reports as required.
• Assist the Housekeeping management team with other operational duties and assignments when required.
