Job summary

Qualifications

• Degree or postgraduate qualifications in hydrogeology, geology, civil/environmental engineering.
• Proficiency in hydrogeological modelling software such as MODFLOW and GIS.
• Strong analytical thinking, planning and problem-solving skills.
• Good writing, communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Experience in hydrogeological modelling is preferred.

[What the role is]As a Senior Engineer/ Executive Engineer / Engineer (Hydrogeology) in the Water Systems Department, Planning & Capability Development Division, you will be part of an inter-disciplinary team to lead the development of engineering models to understand hydrological systems and enhance integrated water resource management and undertake related R&D projects.[What you will be working on]Your responsibilities will include, but not limited to the following areas:Data Analysis : work in a multidisciplinary team to collect and analyse data from trial boreholes, hydraulic tests and geological studies.Numerical modelling : work closely with the project consultants to develop and refine numerical model(s)Model calibration and updating : Calibrate and update models using field monitoring data.Report preparation : prepare comprehensive reports and presentations to communicate findings and recommendations.Knowledge management : maintain and implement standard protocols for model development, calibration and validation to ensure that models are properly archived and version-controlled; as well as conduct training/knowledge sharing sessionsAny other duties as assigned.[What we are looking for]Degree or postgraduate qualifications in Hydrogeology, Geology, Civil / Environmental Engineering, or related fieldsProficiency in hydrogeological modelling software such as MODFLOW and GIS applicationsPossess strong analytical thinking, planning and problem-solving skillsGood writing, communication, and interpersonal skillsAble to work independently and a good team playerSelf-motivated, adaptable and possess strong sense of responsibilityExperience / knowledge in hydrogeological modelling is preferred
