Job summary

PUB, The National Water Agency in Singapore seeks a Senior Engineer/Executive Engineer/Engineer (Hydrogeology) to lead development of engineering models for hydrological systems and integrated water resource management, and to undertake related R&D projects.

You will be part of a multidisciplinary team handling data analysis, numerical modelling, model calibration, report preparation and knowledge management, with opportunities to train others and contribute to standard protocols.

Qualifications

• Degree or postgraduate qualifications in Hydrogeology, Geology, Civil / Environmental Engineering, or related fields.
• Proficiency in hydrogeological modelling software such as MODFLOW and GIS applications.
• Strong analytical thinking, planning and problem-solving skills.
• Good writing, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Able to work independently and a good team player.
• Self-motivated, adaptable and possess strong sense of responsibility.
• Experience / knowledge in hydrogeological modelling is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Data analysis: collect and analyse data from boreholes, hydraulic tests and geological studies.
• Numerical modelling: develop and refine numerical model(s) with project consultants.
• Model calibration and updating: calibrate models using field monitoring data.
• Report preparation: produce comprehensive reports and presentations communicating findings and recommendations.
• Knowledge management: maintain standards, archival and version-control for models; train/knowledge sharing sessions.
• Other duties as assigned.

What the role is:

As a Senior Engineer/ Executive Engineer / Engineer (Hydrogeology) in the Water Systems Department, Planning & Capability Development Division, you will be part of an inter-disciplinary team to lead the development of engineering models to understand hydrological systems and enhance integrated water resource management and undertake related R&D projects.

What you will be working on:

Your responsibilities will include, but not limited to the following areas:

• Data Analysis: work in a multidisciplinary team to collect and analyse data from trial boreholes, hydraulic tests and geological studies.
• Numerical modelling: work closely with the project consultants to develop and refine numerical model(s)
• Model calibration and updating: Calibrate and update models using field monitoring data.
• Report preparation: prepare comprehensive reports and presentations to communicate findings and recommendations.
• Knowledge management: maintain and implement standard protocols for model development, calibration and validation to ensure that models are properly archived and version-controlled; as well as conduct training/knowledge sharing sessions
• Any other duties as assigned.
