Job summary

Azbil Singapore Pte. Ltd. is seeking a Proposal Engineer to lead tendering and proposal development for smart building projects. You will combine technical expertise with commercial insight to deliver competitive bids and support project success.

Responsibilities include reviewing tender documents, preparing proposals, cost estimation, supplier Quotations, and collaboration with Engineering, Projects, and Sales teams to address clarifications and ensure accurate bids.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
• 1–3 years of relevant experience, preferably with HVAC and/or BMS exposure.
• Strong communication, writing, and analytical skills.

Responsibilities

• Review tender documents to identify technical, commercial, and contractual requirements.
• Prepare and submit clear, competitive bid proposals meeting client specs and deadlines.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Projects and Sales teams to address clarifications and post-submission queries.
• Perform detailed cost estimation for project scopes and deliverables to support pricing accuracy.
• Source, evaluate and manage quotations from suppliers/subcontractors for cost-effectiveness.
• Support pricing strategies by engaging in commercial discussions with stakeholders.
• Coordinate with Engineering teams for smooth project handover and during execution.
• Interpret technical specifications, drawings and engineering docs to ensure proposal accuracy.
• Organize and prioritize multiple tasks to meet tender schedules.
• Check and summarize cost calculations with strong attention to detail.
• Utilize Excel to prepare and manage proposal documents and data.

Required competencies and certifications

• Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering

Preferred competencies and qualifications

• 1-3 years of relevant experience, preferably with exposure to HVAC and/or Building Management Systems (BMS)
• Strong interest in smart buildings, automation, and emerging building technologies
• Effective communication, writing, analytical, numerical, and negotiation skills
• Highly organized, self-motivated, and dependable work approach
• Comfortable multitasking and prioritizing work to meet deadlines
