Job summary

Tomato Construction Pte. Ltd. seeks an experienced Civil Engineer to manage technical and construction aspects of residential and interior fit-out projects in Singapore.

You will handle project planning, site coordination, quality control and safety, ensuring works align with drawings, specs and regulatory requirements. The role requires a degree in civil engineering and at least five years of relevant experience, with preference for private residential, landed housing or interior fit-out

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum five years of relevant civil engineering experience.
• Experience in private residential construction or interior fit-out preferred.
• Familiarity with Singapore regulations and safety standards.
• Ability to read architectural, structural and M&E drawings.

Responsibilities

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Civil Engineer to manage and coordinate the technical and construction aspects of our residential and interior fit-out projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for project planning, site coordination, quality control, progress monitoring and ensuring that works are carried out safely, efficiently and in accordance with the approved drawings, specifications and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate and supervise civil, structural, architectural and interior fit-out works.
• Review construction drawings, specifications, method statements and technical submissions.
• Coordinate with architects, structural engineers, M&E consultants, interior designers, quantity surveyors, subcontractors and suppliers.
• Monitor construction progress, workmanship, materials, costs and project schedules.
• Conduct regular site inspections and resolve technical, coordination and construction issues.
• Ensure that construction works comply with approved drawings, contract requirements, safety standards and applicable Singapore regulations.
• Prepare and maintain project schedules, progress reports, site records, inspection reports and other project documentation.
• Review subcontractors' work and ensure timely rectification of defects and non-compliant work.
• Attend project, consultant, subcontractor and client meetings.
• Assist with tender evaluation, cost control, variation assessment and procurement planning.
• Coordinate project completion, testing and commissioning, defect rectification and handover documentation.
• Perform other project-related duties reasonably required by the company.

Job Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related recognised qualification.
• Minimum five years of relevant working experience in civil engineering, building construction or project management.
• Experience in private residential construction, landed housing, renovation or interior fit-out projects is preferred.
• Good knowledge of construction methods, structural and architectural coordination, materials and site operations.
• Familiarity with Singapore's building regulations, authority requirements, workplace safety standards and construction practices.
• Able to read and interpret architectural, structural and M&E drawings.
• Strong project coordination, problem-solving, communication and organisational skills.
• Able to manage multiple parties and work effectively with consultants, subcontractors and suppliers.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and relevant project-management or technical software.
• Able to work independently and attend project sites when required.
