Job summary

Sembcorp Group is seeking an experienced Project Engineer leader to oversee construction activities for renewable energy or gas projects in Singapore. You will plan schedules, manage stakeholders, ensure safety and quality, and drive efficient delivery across multiple sites.

Candidates should have a engineering degree and at least 5 years in energy project management, with proficiency in MS Office and project software. Travel to sites across Singapore may be required.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in engineering or equivalent.
• 5 years of experience in related industry.
• Experience in energy related engineering management and project management is an added advantage.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of Project Engineers to manage and coordinate construction activities for renewable energy or gas related projects.
• Plan and monitor progress of authority submissions to ensure critical path of project is met.
• Manage key stakeholders and take accountability for safety, quality and schedule.
• Create master construction schedule for developments and projects with identification of critical activities.
• Ensure project completion targets are met and report misses with catch-up plans.
• Ensure system, documentation, tracking and checklists and good practices are adhered to.
• Drive efficiency by eliminating waste and non-value add tasks to improve productivity.
• Resource management and recommendations to support project timelines and integration of resources.

Key Roles And Responsibilities

• Lead a team of Project Engineers to manage & coordinate the implementation of construction activities for renewable energy or gas related projects


• Plan and monitor progress of authority submissions to ensure critical path of project is met


• Manage key stakeholders & takes accountability for the successful implementation of project, from safety, quality and schedule standpoint


• Create master construction schedule for developments and projects with identification of critical / mandatory activities


• Ensure project completion targets are met. Report misses and develop catch-up-plan


• Ensure system, documentation, tracking & checklists and good practices are adhered to


• Drive efficiency by eliminating waste and non-value add tasks to improve productivity


• Resource management and make the necessary recommendations to support project timelines. Provide recommendation to integrate resources, activities and deliverables as outlined in the Project Execution Plan.


• Ensure all activities carried out are in full compliance to all regulatory and authority requirement.


• Analyze data, derive trends, pareto, actions to close gaps, perform RCA and provide management reporting


• Identify resource constraints and make the necessary recommendations to support project timelines. Provide recommendation to integrate resources, activities and deliverables as outlined in the Project Execution Plan


• Comprehensive understanding of design principles of renewable energy systems or gas related systems with experience working in the industry


• Comprehensive understanding of installation and testing & commissioning of renewable energy systems or gas related systems.


• Has extensive knowledge of electrical design and specification of high-tension and low-tension electrical systems.


• Support and participate in tenders & tender interviews

Qualifications & Experience

• Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in engineering discipline or equivalent.


• 5 years of experience in related industry


• Experience in energy related engineering management and project management is an added advantage


• Experience in renewable energy or gas related projects is preferred.


• Knowledge of Microsoft Office & Microsoft Project/Primavera
