Job summary

FIRE ASIA ENGINEERING PTE. LTD. is seeking a Project Engineer to take full responsibility for technical coordination and on-site supervision across assigned M&E and fire protection projects in Singapore.

You will study approved drawings, liaise with clients and subcontractors, prepare material lists and shop drawings, monitor progress and quality, and ensure safety and compliance with RA, SWP, MOS, and inspections. Willingness to travel between sites is required.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3–5 years in M&E/Fire protection engineering works.
• Strong knowledge of fire sprinkler, fire alarm, hose reel, plumbing and sanitary systems.
• Able to read and interpret M&E and construction drawings independently.
• Capable of preparing material take-offs, material lists and technical documentation.
• Experience in site supervision, installation coordination and problem-solving.
• Knowledge of Singapore construction site requirements and safety procedures.
• Familiar with RA, SWP, MOS, inspection and testing procedures.
• Proficient with Microsoft Excel, Word and AutoCAD.

Responsibilities

• Take full responsibility for the technical execution and coordination of assigned projects.
• Study and understand approved drawings, specifications and project requirements before commencing work.
• Supervise daily site activities and ensure work is carried out according to approved drawings.
• Coordinate workers, subcontractors and site activities to achieve daily targets.
• Ensure materials, tools and equipment are arranged before work commences.
• Coordinate with clients, consultants, main contractors and other trades.
• Prepare material lists, technical submissions, shop drawings and as-built drawings.
• Monitor installation progress and ensure proper workmanship and quality.
• Identify technical issues and drawing discrepancies and resolve them promptly.
• Prepare and submit daily site progress reports to the Project Manager.
• Ensure RA, SWP, MOS, permits, inspection and testing records are maintained.
• Coordinate testing, commissioning, inspections and project handover.
• Monitor material usage and prevent wastage and rework.
• Ensure all site workers follow safety requirements and company instructions.
• Follow up on outstanding works, defects and pending approvals until closure.

2. JOB REQUIREMENTS

1. Minimum 3–5 years of experience in M&E / Fire Protection engineering works.

2. Strong technical knowledge of fire sprinkler, fire alarm, hose reel, plumbing and sanitary systems.

3. Must be able to read, interpret and understand M&E and construction drawings independently.

4. Must be capable of preparing material take-offs, material lists and technical documentation.

5. Must have experience in site supervision, installation coordination and technical problem-solving.

6. Knowledge of Singapore construction site requirements and safety procedures.

7. Must be familiar with RA, SWP, MOS, inspection and testing procedures.

8. Must be computer literate, including Microsoft Excel, Word and AutoCAD.

9. Must have strong coordination, communication and reporting skills.

10. Must be responsible, disciplined, proactive and able to work under pressure.

11. Must be willing to travel between project sites and conduct regular site inspections.

12. Reporting Time: 7:00 AM daily, 6 days a week.

13. Working Hours: From 7:00 AM until the assigned work and project responsibilities are completed.

• No excuses for poor site supervision.

• No incorrect installation due to failure to check drawings.

• No delays due to poor material planning.

• No repeated technical mistakes or unnecessary rework.

• No leaving site issues unresolved.

• No late submission of reports or technical documents.

• No ignoring instructions from the Project Manager or management.

• Every assigned task must be followed up until completion.

IMPORTANT: The Project Engineer must take FULL RESPONSIBILITY for technical coordination, site supervision, installation quality, manpower coordination, material planning, safety and daily progress. The Project Manager should not need to constantly chase for updates or remind the engineer to complete assigned duties.
