Job summary

JENDA E&C PTE. LTD. is seeking an M&E Site Engineer to supervise and coordinate mechanical and electrical installation works at the project site in Singapore. The role ensures compliance with drawings, specs, quality standards, safety requirements and schedules.

You will review drawings, coordinate with project stakeholders, monitor progress, manage documentation and ensure timely completion of M&E activities with a strong focus on safety and quality.

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in M&E related disciplines.
• 2–5 years in M&E site coordination or building construction projects.
• Experience supervising M&E installation works and coordinating with subcontractors/consultants.
• Familiarity with M&E drawings, shop drawings, testing and commissioning procedures.
• Knowledge of Singapore building regulations, codes of practice and WSH requirements.

Job description

1. Job Summary

The M&E Site Engineer is responsible for coordinating, supervising and monitoring mechanical and electrical (M&E) installation works at the project site. The role ensures that all M&E works are carried out according to approved drawings, project specifications, quality standards, safety requirements and the project schedule.

2. Key Responsibilities

1. A. Site Supervision and Coordination
   1. Supervise and coordinate daily M&E installation works, including electrical, mechanical, plumbing, sanitary and other building services, as applicable to the project.
   2. Coordinate with the Project Manager, consultants, main contractors, subcontractors and other trades to ensure smooth site operations.
   3. Monitor site progress and ensure works are completed according to the approved construction programme.
   4. Conduct site inspections and resolve technical issues, site discrepancies and installation conflicts.
   5. Ensure proper coordination of M&E services with architectural and structural works.
2. B. Drawings and Technical Documentation
   1. Review and interpret M&E construction drawings, shop drawings, specifications and method statements.
   2. Coordinate the preparation and submission of shop drawings, material submissions and technical documents.
   3. Identify discrepancies between approved drawings and actual site conditions and coordinate the necessary rectification.
   4. Maintain updated site records, inspection reports, progress reports and as-built drawings.
   5. Assist in preparing technical submissions and responding to consultants' comments.
3. C. Quality Control and Testing
   1. Ensure M&E installation works comply with approved drawings, specifications, relevant codes and project requirements.
   2. Arrange and coordinate inspections with consultants, clients and relevant authorities, where applicable.
   3. Monitor testing and commissioning activities for M&E systems.
   4. Identify defects and coordinate rectification works to meet the required quality standards.
   5. Ensure proper documentation of inspection, testing and commissioning results.
4. D. Safety and Compliance
   1. Ensure all M&E site activities comply with workplace safety and health (WSH) requirements and company safety procedures.
   2. Ensure workers and subcontractors follow approved method statements, risk assessments and safe work procedures.
   3. Identify potential site hazards and report unsafe conditions to the relevant personnel.
   4. Coordinate with the WSH team to maintain a safe working environment.
5. E. Progress and Resource Management
   1. Monitor manpower, materials, equipment and subcontractor performance at the worksite.
   2. Coordinate material deliveries and ensure materials are properly stored and available according to work schedules.
   3. Report project progress, delays, technical issues and resource requirements to the Project Manager.
   4. Assist in resolving site coordination issues to minimise delays and rework.
   5. Support project handover, defects rectification and final documentation.

3. Job Requirements

• Diploma or Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Building Services Engineering or a related discipline.
• Preferably 2-5 years of relevant experience in M&E site coordination or building construction projects.
• Experience in supervising M&E installation works and coordinating with subcontractors and consultants.
• Familiarity with M&E drawings, shop drawings, testing and commissioning procedures.
• Knowledge of Singapore building regulations, relevant codes of practice and WSH requirements.
• Proficient in AutoCAD, Microsoft Office and other relevant engineering software.
• Good communication, coordination, problem-solving and organisational skills.
• Able to work independently and meet project deadlines.
• Willing to work at construction sites and support project requirements.
