Job summary

UNICRAFT ENGINEERING PTE. LTD. invites a Project Engineer to oversee site activities across mechanical, electrical, and building services. You will review drawings, coordinate with consultants and contractors, and ensure works meet design specs and safety standards.

The role requires a degree in engineering, 2+ years in construction, strong reading of drawings, knowledge of AutoCAD, MS Project, and BIM/Revit is a plus. Willing to handle field coordination and support handover.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Understand project requirements, technical specs, contract obligations, and client expectations.
• Review and analyse construction drawings, M&E drawings, authority requirements, tender specifications, contract documents, and technical submissions.
• Participate in project planning, scheduling, coordination, and progress monitoring to ensure works meet project timelines.
• Coordinate and supervise site installation and construction activities, including M&E and building services.
• Monitor site works to ensure compliance with drawings, design requirements, and standards.
• Conduct regular site inspections to monitor progress, workmanship, and safety.
• Identify discrepancies and coordinate with consultants and contractors for resolutions.
• Coordinate architectural, structural, mechanical, electrical, ACMV, plumbing, fire protection services as required.

• Engage with clients, architects, consultants, subcontractors, and authorities to ensure smooth delivery.
• Provide technical support and practical engineering solutions for site and installation issues.

Job Scope

• Collaborate with Project Managers to understand project requirements, technical specifications, contractual obligations, and client expectations.

• Conduct regular site inspections to monitor work progress, installation quality, workmanship, safety, and compliance with project requirements.

• Identify discrepancies, clashes, or technical issues in drawings and site conditions, and coordinate with consultants, contractors, and relevant stakeholders for clarification and resolution.

• Coordinate architectural, structural, mechanical, electrical, ACMV, plumbing, fire protection, and other related services where required.

• Oversee project execution in accordance with contract requirements, approved drawings, technical specifications, and regulatory requirements.

• Liaise and coordinate with clients, owners, architects, consultants, project managers, subcontractors, suppliers, vendors, and relevant authorities to ensure smooth project delivery.

• Provide technical support and practical engineering solutions to resolve site, installation, coordination, and construction-related issues.

• Review material and equipment specifications and ensure that proposed materials and equipment comply with project requirements.

• Coordinate material procurement, delivery, installation, inspection, and usage at site.

• Implement and maintain Quality Assurance (QA) and Quality Control (QC) procedures to ensure works meet required quality standards.

• Conduct inspections and checks on construction materials, M&E equipment, installations, and completed works.

• Coordinate and support testing, commissioning, inspection, and handover activities for building services and M&E systems where applicable.

• Assist in troubleshooting technical and system-related issues during installation, testing, commissioning, and defect rectification.

• Manage project resources effectively, including manpower, materials, equipment, and subcontractor activities.

• Prepare, update, monitor, and present project schedules using Microsoft Project.

• Monitor project progress, identify potential delays, risks, technical issues, and coordination problems, and report project status to Management.

• Implement and enforce Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) requirements and ensure safe working practices at site.

• Conduct site safety inspections and follow up on corrective actions where necessary.

• Prepare and maintain project documentation, including daily site reports, progress reports, inspection records, material records, manpower reports, equipment records, testing records, and as-built drawings.

• Assist in the preparation of technical submissions, method statements, shop drawings, as-built drawings, operation manuals, and project handover documentation.

• Attend site meetings, coordination meetings, technical meetings, and project discussions with relevant stakeholders.

• Support project completion, handover, defects rectification, and post-completion matters.

• Undertake any other engineering or project-related duties assigned by Management as required.

Job Requirements

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Building Services Engineering, M&E Engineering, or equivalent qualification.

• Minimum 2 years of relevant working experience in the construction, engineering, M&E, or building services industry.

• Good knowledge of construction methods, engineering processes, materials, equipment, and site installation works.

• Experience or knowledge in M&E and building services systems, including ACMV systems, will be an advantage.

• Able to read and interpret construction drawings, M&E drawings, technical specifications, and project documents.

• Familiar with relevant building regulations, authority requirements, codes of practice, and safety standards.

• Knowledgeable in AutoCAD and able to review or prepare technical and shop drawings.

• Knowledge of BIM / Revit will be an advantage.

• Proficient in Microsoft Project and able to prepare, update, and present project schedules to clients and stakeholders.

• Experience in testing, commissioning, troubleshooting, and project handover will be an advantage.

• Possession of WSQ safety-related certification or equivalent will be an advantage.

• Strong technical, analytical, coordination, and problem-solving abilities.

• Good communication, interpersonal, and written skills.

• Able to coordinate effectively with clients, consultants, contractors, subcontractors, suppliers, and other project stakeholders.

• Able to manage site activities and assigned projects independently with minimal supervision.

• Able to work under pressure and meet project deadlines.

• Willing to attend to site matters or emergency calls outside normal office hours when required.
