Qualifications

• 12–15+ years of total construction leadership experience in Data Centre, hyperscale, or mission-critical facilities within Singapore or APAC.

Job description

We are partnering with a top-tier global construction consultancy and project advisory firm with an extensive footprint across the Asia-Pacific region and major global markets. They are seeking a Project Director to join their Singapore team to lead major Data Centre and mission-critical infrastructure projects across Singapore and the wider APAC region.

Core Responsibilities

• Mission-Critical Project Delivery: Lead major hyperscale and enterprise Data Centre developments from inception to closeout, maintaining strict oversight of master delivery schedules, critical path milestones, and project recovery strategies.
• Commercial & Procurement Leadership: Drive commercial strategy for tenders, oversee budget forecasting, direct value engineering, and manage contractor/supplier negotiations to safeguard target profitability, cash flow, and cost control across multi-million dollar capital expenditure budgets.
• Client & Stakeholder Management: Serve as the primary senior liaison for hyperscale tech clients, contractors, consultants and regional stakeholders. Establish high-trust executive relationships, direct communications, and manage complex stakeholder environments across the APAC region.
• Technical Oversight & Commissioning: Supervise complex MEP and CSA integration, power distribution frameworks, cooling infrastructure, and CSA works. Ensure full compliance with Uptime Institute standards (Tier III/IV) and oversee rigorous Integrated Systems Testing (IST) protocols.
• Vendor & Supply Chain Direction: Direct general contractors, specialist MEP subcontractors, and long-lead equipment suppliers (e.g., generators, chillers, UPS systems). Lead contract administration, variation reviews, and high-performance vendor management.
• Governance, Risk & QA/QC: Enforce strict internal QA/QC frameworks, conduct regular technical audits, establish proactive risk mitigation strategies, and ensure full compliance with regional regulatory, statutory, safety, and environmental standards (including Singapore Green Mark for Data Centres).
• Team Leadership & Regional Growth: Mentor and direct multidisciplinary project management teams, support regional talent development, and assist in business development activities including executive pitch presentations and tender submissions for new mission-critical bids.

Qualifications & Experience

• Education: Degree in Construction Management, Civil, Electrical, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline. Advanced certifications (e.g., PMP, MRICS, CDCP) are highly desirable.
• Proven Track Record: 12–15+ years of total construction leadership experience, with a proven track record leading large-scale Data Centre, hyperscale, or mission-critical facility developments within Singapore or the wider APAC market.
• Technical Knowledge: Deep understanding of mission-critical infrastructure, including high-voltage power networks, precision cooling solutions, UPS systems, redundancy strategies, and L1–L5 testing & commissioning processes.
• Commercial Acumen: Demonstrated expertise in contract administration (e.g., FIDIC, SIA, REDAS), claims management, cost control, procurement strategies, and value engineering for complex engineering projects.
• Leadership & Communication: Exceptional executive presentation, negotiation, and client-facing communication skills, with the ability to manage diverse international teams and high-profile clients.
• Regional Mobility: Willingness to travel across Singapore and regional APAC markets as required by project portfolios.
