Job summary

Currie & Brown in Singapore seeks an experienced Project Director to lead major construction and development projects across Singapore and the APAC region. The role provides senior leadership across the full project lifecycle, managing client relationships, delivery, risk, and multidisciplinary teams.

You will oversee budgets, programmes, procurement strategies, and governance, while mentoring project management teams and contributing to regional delivery capabilities.

Qualifications

• Proven experience delivering large-scale construction projects from inception to completion.

Responsibilities

• Provide overall leadership and strategic direction for major projects in Singapore and regional APAC markets.
• Lead projects from feasibility, design and procurement through construction, commissioning and final handover.
• Act as the primary senior point of contact for clients, providing strategic advice and maintaining strong stakeholder relationships.
• Manage multidisciplinary project teams including consultants, contractors, architects, engineers, QS/commercial teams and specialist suppliers.
• Establish and manage project objectives, budgets, programmes and procurement strategies and delivery plans.
• Monitor project performance against cost, programme, quality, safety and contractual requirements.
• Lead project governance, reporting, risk management and change control processes.
• Identify and mitigate project risks, commercial exposures, delays and potential disputes.
• Oversee procurement and tendering strategies, contractor selection and contract administration.
• Provide leadership on commercial management, cost control, variations, claims and contractual matters.
• Manage project schedules and ensure effective programme recovery where required.
• Lead design coordination and ensure effective integration between all project disciplines.
• Oversee construction progress, quality assurance, commissioning and project closeout.
• Ensure compliance with statutory requirements, industry standards, health and safety regulations and client requirements.
• Build and maintain relationships with key clients, contractors, consultants and regional stakeholders.
• Support business development activities, including client presentations, proposals, tenders and identification of new opportunities.
• Provide mentoring and leadership to project management teams and contribute to the development of regional project delivery capabilities.
• Travel across Singapore and regional APAC markets as required.

We are seeking an experienced Project Director to join our Singapore team, with responsibility for leading major projects across Singapore and the wider APAC region. The successful candidate will provide senior leadership across the full project lifecycle, managing client relationships, project delivery, commercial performance, risk, programme, and multidisciplinary teams.

This is a senior leadership position suited to an experienced Project Director / Senior Project Manager with a strong track record delivering complex construction and development projects in Singapore and/or across Asia-Pacific.

Requirements

• Degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Building, Quantity Surveying, Project Management or a related discipline.
• Proven experience delivering large-scale and complex construction projects from inception through completion.
• Strong experience working with clients, consultants, contractors and multidisciplinary project teams.
• Regional APAC project experience is highly desirable.
• Strong knowledge of project controls, programme management, cost management, procurement, contracts, risk and change management.
• Experience managing significant project budgets and multiple stakeholders.
• Strong understanding of construction methodologies, design coordination and project delivery processes.
• Excellent leadership, communication, negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
• Commercially astute with the ability to identify and manage project risks and opportunities.
• Strong written and spoken English.
• Willingness to travel regionally as required.
