Job summary

SPH Media Limited is seeking an experienced production operations professional for the SPH Print Centre in Singapore. You will operate and monitor equipment across standalone and integrated modes, including CtP and mailroom systems, while managing production control software such as MPS, Arkitex and PPM.

You will ensure smooth integration of hardware and software, monitor quality, downtime and wastage, and drive corrective actions to meet deadlines.

Qualifications

• Degree in Engineering or Manufacturing or related disciplines.
• Minimum 3 years of relevant experience.
• Strong technical knowledge with good people management skills.
• Innovative and able to establish alternative working methods.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and production reporting systems.
• Able to work on rotating shifts, including weekends and Public Holidays.

Responsibilities

• Operate and monitor production equipment in standalone and integrated modes, including Press, Container-to-Plate (CtP) and Mailroom Systems
• Operate and manage production control software, including MPS, Arkitex and PPM systems
• Ensure the smooth integration and operation of production hardware, software and auxiliary systems to achieve production targets
• Monitor and troubleshoot issues relating to print quality, equipment downtime and production wastage, and implement appropriate corrective actions.
• Ensure printed products are accurate and comply with production schedules, including deadlines, imprint lines and content requirements
• Monitor production progress and completion timelines, and elevate operational issues when production targets are at risk
• Manage manpower deployment, workload requirements, leave applications and overtime activation to support operational needs.
• Coordinate and oversee commercial newspaper insertion jobs and liaise with in-house contractors to ensure timely completion
• Monitor prepress and CtP workflows, including page transmission, plate production and consumable usage, and prepare relevant management reports
• Conduct risk assessments and propose appropriate workplace safety and health control measures to ensure a safe production environment.
