Job summary

Venture Corporation Limited is seeking a Product Engineer, R&D in Singapore to own end-to-end product engineering for electro-mechanical devices across NPI, ramp-up, mass production and sustaining phases.

You will drive cross-functional collaboration with Manufacturing, Quality, Supply Chain and customers to continuously improve product performance and reliability, review design handovers, and lead engineering change actions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor level degree in EE or ME; 3–5 years in NPI for electromechanical products.
• Experience with PCBA EE or ME changes and verification/validation.
• Familiarity with quality tools (8D, Pareto, etc.) and DFMEA/DFX.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end product engineering for electro-mechanical products across NPI, ramp-up, mass production and sustaining phases.
• Drive cross-functional collaboration with Manufacturing, Quality, Supply Chain and Customers to improve product performance.
• Lead design reviews, DFMEA/DFX, and engineering change proposals prior to mass production.
• Plan prototype builds and engineering evaluations to validate changes on production lines.
• Review Open Product Issues and ensure RCAs are implemented to prevent recurrence.

We’re looking to add a Product Engineer, R&D in Singapore. The position is based in our HQ at Ang Mo Kio.

As a Product Engineer, R&D, you will:

Own end-to-end product engineering responsibilities for electro-mechanical products across NPI, ramp-up, mass production, and sustaining phases, ensuring product performance, manufacturability, cost, quality, and reliability meet organizational and customer expectations.

Drive cross-functional collaboration with Manufacturing, Quality, Supply Chain, and Customers to continuously improve product performance throughout its lifecycle.

• Perform failure analysis to trace the root cause of the failure, trouble shoot HW related product issues and drive to implement permanent solutions to improve production yield and quality of the manufactured/shipped products.
• Perform Design Analysis with DFX, DFMEA etc to identify design related root causes.
• BOM preparation/update, Create/update Engineering documentations including changes to Schematics/Layout, or Mechanical CAD and 2D drawing as necessary.
• Plan, co-ordinate and lead to implement actions required to evaluate and qualify engineering changes to product or manufacturing processes prior to implementation in mass production, which includes proposal of Qualification/Validation plan and execution.
• Plan and work with R&D teams to execute Prototype builds or Engineering Evaluation builds to validate engineering changes at production line.
• Study and improve product performance (cost and quality) through continuous design and process improvements.
• Product owner responsible for performance across lifecycle in carrying out Root Cause Analysis and resolution of recurring HW or PCBA quality or field issues.
• Provide HW related support to resolve Production Tester issues.
• Collaborate with designers and end customers to address field related issues.
• Propose value engineering opportunity to clients and improve product margin YoY.
• Review of Product Design Handover documents for Test Coverage of all functionalities.
• Review of Process Capability to ensure designed functional test specifications can achieve Yield targets.
• Review of Open Product Issues, containment actions and Plan of action to resolve them permanently.
• Lead technical communication with clients and internal team after production released.
• Coordinate EOL components and parts qualification and product validation after production released.

Requirements:

• Degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering or Mechanical Engineering, with 3-5 years of experience in New Product Introduction activities of electromechanical products, preferably from life science product manufacturing industry, by coordinating with R&D Design Team and customer.
• Familiar with Verification and Validation of design or component changes of PCBA EE or ME parts and module
• Experience in failure analysis to trace root cause of the failure and resolve the issues.
• Familiar with PCBA Design and Design Tools is a Plus (Altium Designer or Solidworks)
• Familiar quality tools and techniques (Control Charts, Pareto Charts, cause and effect, 8D etc)
• Well versed with standard design processes documentations
• Independently able to perform DFX, DFMEA and DOE
• Familiar with PCBA and BOM structuring, Engineering Change Process Management, Yield reporting, Root Cause Analysis (RCA) Report preparation etc.
• Efficient in oral and written communication, and preparation of presentation slides/materials
• Knowledge of medical product compliance standards such as ISO13485 would be advantageous.
