Job summary

CYCLE & CARRIAGE AUTOMOTIVE PTE LIMITED is seeking an experienced engineer to provide technical support for heavy trucks and electric commercial vehicles in Singapore. The role focuses on homologation, design adaptation, and engineering problem solving across local authorities and factories.

The candidate will coordinate regulatory submissions, liaise with overseas factories in China, and contribute to product development, validation and testing for new vehicle models.

Qualifications

• Bachelor-level or diploma in automotive/mechanical/electrical engineering is required.
• Strong understanding of homologation standards for vehicles.
• Experience in design, evaluation and engineering support.
• Ability to communicate in Chinese for liaison with overseas factories and authorities in China.

Responsibilities

• Assist in resolving technical and quality issues for customers and fleets.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide technical support for heavy trucks and electric heavy truck products.
• Coordinate and support vehicle homologation activities in compliance with International (UNECE) regulatory requirements and standards
• Liaise with factories, suppliers, and authorities on technical submissions, approvals, and certification matters.
• Support vehicle design adaptation and engineering modifications to meet local operational and regulatory requirements.
• Conduct technical evaluation, troubleshooting, and analysis for vehicle systems and components.
• Support product development, validation, and testing activities for new vehicle models.
• Work closely with the sales and aftersales teams to provide technical product support and training.
• Review and prepare technical documentation, specifications, and engineering reports.
• Assist in resolving technical and quality-related issues for customers and fleet operations.

Requirements

• Degree or Diploma in Automotive/Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or related field.
• At least 10 years experience with heavy truck and electric commercial vehicle systems and design.
• Strong understanding of vehicle homologation standards and regulatory requirements.
• Experience in automotive design, technical evaluation, and engineering support.
• Ability to communicate effectively in Chinese is required to liaise with overseas factories and local authoritiesbased in China.
• Experience in commercial vehicles or electric vehicle industry will be an advantage.
