Job summary

Motionwell Automation Pte Ltd in Woodlands, Singapore, is seeking a Procurement Professional to source, price and purchase mechanical, electrical, automation and general engineering components for projects. You will review BOMs, requisitions and place Purchase Orders, coordinating with engineering and project teams.

Requirements include a Diploma in Supply Chain or related field, minimum 2 years purchasing experience in automation or manufacturing, strong negotiation and supplier management,

Qualifications

• Diploma in Supply Chain, Procurement, Business, Engineering or related discipline.
• Minimum 2 years of purchasing/procurement experience in automation/manufacturing/engineering industries.
• Experience sourcing mechanical/electrical/automation components and familiarity with BOMs/Purchase Requisitions/ERP systems.
• Strong negotiation and supplier management skills with cost awareness.
• Detail-oriented handling of part numbers, specs, quantities and pricing.
• Proactive and able to follow up on purchasing matters independently.
• English and Mandarin proficiency due to supplier interactions in China.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Handle sourcing and purchasing of mechanical, electrical, automation and general engineering components for projects.
• Obtain and compare supplier quotations based on price, quality and lead time, including historical price comparisons.
• Negotiate with suppliers for competitive pricing and better discounts, especially for bulk/high-value purchases.
• Check part numbers, specifications and quantities against BOMs and purchase requirements before ordering.
• Review BOMs and Purchase Requisitions, update purchasing information in the system, and issue Purchase Orders timely.
• Plan and prioritize purchases according to project requirements, stock availability and lead times.
• Follow up with suppliers on orders to minimize delays to project schedules.
• Source alternative suppliers and obtain competitive quotations when needed.
• Coordinate with Engineering, Project, Assembly and other internal teams on purchasing needs and material availability.
• Maintain accurate purchasing records, quotations, pricing and supplier information.
• Develop and maintain good relationships with local and overseas suppliers.
• Support supplier evaluation and cost-saving initiatives.
