Job summary

VDL ETG Singapore is seeking a Procurement Specialist to manage purchasing and on-time delivery of materials and services for manufacturing projects. You will create and monitor purchase orders, coordinate with suppliers, and ensure lead times align with program deliverables.

• Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Mechanical/ Electrical/ Electronic Engineering is required.
• 3–5 years of relevant experience in a high-mix, low-volume environment or semiconductor industry.
• Strong knowledge of managing global suppliers with good negotiation skills.
• Positive attitude, independent with high ownership of responsibilities.
• Team player and collaborative mindset.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for purchasing and monitoring on-time delivery of materials, components and services to meet factory requirements and program deliverables.
• Create and monitor purchase orders based on demand and follow up with suppliers on delivery dates.
• Ensure on-time delivery by expediting orders and maintaining persistency.
• Interact with suppliers daily to discuss price and lead-time changes and updates.
• Ensure routing purchasing deliverables are communicated to internal and external stakeholders promptly.
• Set up and manage mitigation plans on critical materials to meet lead times and reduce risk of non-supply.
• Pursue procurement process improvements to increase efficiency.
• Manage supplier relationships and performance, participate in supplier reviews and improvement plans.
• Support the company's continuous improvement program.

Job description

Purpose: Responsible for order management for electronics and mechanical components required for manufacturing by a specific timeline determined by the project team. Manage the procurement process such as receiving the receipt of goods from suppliers, making sure suppliers are paid and returns are processed promptly.

Key Area of Responsibilities:

• Responsible for the purchasing and monitoring of on-time delivery of materials, components and services to meet factory's requirements on part deliveries and program deliverables
• Create and monitor purchase orders based on demand in the system and follow-up with suppliers on committed delivery dates
• Ensure on-time delivery by closely monitoring and expediting of orders with persistency
• Interact with suppliers daily through conference calls, on-site meetings to discuss the first communicator of price & lead time changes including additional information on any changes made
• Ensure routing purchasing deliverables are maintained and communicated to internal and external stakeholders on a timely manner
• Setup and manage mitigation plans on critical materials to meet Lead time requirements, risk of non-supply etc
• Pursue and/or purchasing process improvement to ensure efficiency of work
• Manage supplier relationship and performance in term of delivery participate in supplier performance review and improvement plan to develop suppliers to meet company's target. Support in areas of Quality & Control or as assigned
• Support and participate in company continuous improvement program
