Job summary

RRecruiter is seeking an experienced Procurement Manager to lead a team of sourcing professionals and drive strategic procurement across mechanical components, fabrication, and contract manufacturing for a leading semiconductor equipment company.

You will develop sourcing strategies, oversee supplier qualifications, negotiate contracts, work with Engineering and Manufacturing teams, and drive cost reductions through value engineering and supplier consolidation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
• Minimum 8 years in procurement, sourcing, commodity management, or supply chain in a manufacturing environment.
• At least 3 years leading procurement/sourcing teams.
• Solid knowledge of precision machining, sheet metal fabrication, mechanical assemblies, contract manufacturing, manufacturing cost drivers, and engineering drawing/GD&T interpretation.
• Proven track record in supplier negotiations, contract management, and cost reduction.
• Strong grasp of strategic sourcing methodologies and supplier performance management.
• ERP/MRP system experience (e.g. SAP).
• Strong stakeholder management, leadership, negotiation, and communication skills.
• Semiconductor equipment, automation, electronics manufacturing, OEM/ODM, or contract manufacturing experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage a procurement team, driving performance on cost, quality, delivery, and supplier reliability.
• Build and execute sourcing strategies for mechanical components, fabricated parts, precision machining, sheet metal, assemblies, automation equipment, and contract manufacturing.
• Own supplier selection, qualification, performance management, and development initiatives.
• Lead contract negotiations and commercial discussions, building long-term strategic supplier partnerships.
• Work closely with Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, Operations, and NPI teams to support business growth.
• Review engineering drawings, technical specs, BOMs, and manufacturing requirements to ensure supplier capabilities align.
• Identify and implement cost reduction opportunities — value engineering, VAVE, supplier consolidation, localisation, process improvements.
• Manage supplier capacity planning, risk assessment, and business continuity to ensure supply resilience.
• Drive operational excellence through Lean, Kaizen, GEMBA, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Set procurement KPIs and track supplier performance on cost, quality, delivery, responsiveness, and compliance.
• Coach, mentor, and develop team members to build a high-performing procurement function.
• Support cross-functional projects, product transfers, and new product introductions.
