Job summary

MSC Mediterranean Shipping Company is seeking an experienced procurement professional to manage end-to-end sourcing for assigned categories. You will engage stakeholders, assess suppliers, conduct RFx, negotiate terms, and administer contracts. The role requires strong Excel skills, familiarity with BI tools, and governance compliance.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years in a global procurement function with sourcing and contract administration.
• Solid understanding of sourcing processes, terms, cost analysis and governance.

Responsibilities

• Manage end-to-end sourcing and procurement activities for assigned categories, goods, services, projects, or operational requirements.
• Engage stakeholders to understand requirements, specifications, budgets and delivery expectations.
• Identify, assess, qualify, and manage suitable suppliers and service providers.
• Conduct RFQ, tenders, bid evaluations, price comparisons, benchmarking and analyses.
• Negotiate pricing, lead times, payment terms, service levels, warranties, liabilities and other terms.
• Prepare, review, renew and administer contracts and related documents.
• Monitor supplier performance, delivery, quality, responsiveness, pricing and compliance.
• Resolve procurement issues, delays, discrepancies, claims and contractual matters.
• Maintain procurement records, supplier information, pricing data, contracts and savings records.
• Analyze spend, demand, market conditions, supplier capabilities and risks.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, ethics and regulations; support projects and process improvements.

Job description

• Manage end-to-end sourcing and procurement activities for assigned categories, goods, services, projects, or operational requirements.
• Engage stakeholders to understand requirements, specifications, priorities, budgets, and delivery expectations.
• Identify, assess, qualify, and manage suitable suppliers and service providers.
• Conduct requests for quotation, tenders, bid evaluations, price comparisons, benchmarking, and commercial analyses.
• Negotiate pricing, lead times, payment terms, service levels, warranties, liabilities, and other commercial conditions to achieve best overall value.
• Prepare, review, renew, and administer contracts, framework agreements, confidentiality agreements, and related commercial documentation.
• Monitor supplier performance, delivery, quality, responsiveness, pricing, and compliance with agreed requirements.
• Resolve procurement issues, including delays, discrepancies, claims, contractual matters, and supplier performance concerns.
• Maintain accurate procurement records, supplier information, pricing data, contracts, savings records, and supporting documentation.
• Analyze spend, demand, market conditions, supplier capabilities, and commercial risks to support sourcing and category decisions.
• Ensure procurement activities comply with company policies, approval requirements, ethical standards, and applicable regulations.
• Support procurement projects, reporting, digitalization, process improvement, and other duties assigned according to business needs.

Requirement

• Bachelor’s degree in procurement, supply chain management, business, engineering, or a related field; a recognised procurement qualification is an advantage.
• At least 5 years’ relevant experience in a global procurement function, including procurement, sourcing, supplier management, contract administration, or a related commercial function.
• Good understanding of sourcing processes, commercial terms, cost analysis, supplier performance, and procurement governance.
• Strong negotiation, analytical, problem-solving, stakeholder-management, and communication skills.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills are required; experience with Power BI and procurement systems such as SAP or Coupa is desirable.
• Excellent written and spoken English is required. Proficiency in additional languages would be considered an advantage.
• Commercially aware, organised, adaptable, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities with integrity.
