Job Summary
We are looking for a detail-oriented and resourceful Procurement Executive to manage sourcing, purchasing, and inventory control for our carpentry and furniture production factory. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring timely and cost-effective procurement of raw materials, hardware, consumables, and services required for smooth factory operations.
Key Responsibilities
1. Sourcing & Supplier Management
- Source and evaluate suppliers for timber, plywood, hardware, laminates, finishing materials, fittings, and factory consumables.
- Build and maintain good relationships with local and overseas suppliers.
- Negotiate for best prices, credit terms, and delivery timelines.
2. Purchasing & Order Management
- Raise purchase orders (POs) and track delivery schedules.
- Coordinate with warehouse and production teams to ensure materials meet specifications.
- Monitor stock levels and ensure timely replenishment to prevent production delays.
3. Cost & Inventory Control
- Maintain cost efficiency without compromising quality.
- Maintain accurate records of all purchases, pricing, and stock levels.
- Assist with monthly and year-end stock takes and reporting.
4. Coordination & Documentation
- Liaise with the warehouse, production, and finance departments for procurement needs.
- Ensure proper documentation and filing of purchase orders, delivery orders, invoices, and quotations.
- Monitor vendor performance and resolve any delivery or quality issues.
5. Compliance & Quality
- Ensure all materials purchased comply with quality and safety standards.
- Follow internal procurement policies and approval workflows.
Requirements
- Diploma or Degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, or equivalent.
- Minimum 2–3 years of relevant experience, preferably in the construction, furniture, or manufacturing industry.
- Strong knowledge of carpentry materials and components is an advantage.
- Good negotiation and analytical skills.
- Familiar with procurement software and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word).
- Able to work independently in a fast-paced production environment.
Additional Information
- 5.5/6-day work week depending on operational needs.
- Work location based at factory site; hands-on involvement required.
- Fluent in English and Bahasa Malaysia/Mandarin preferred for supplier coordination.
