Job summary

GE Aerospace Engine Services Singapore (GEAESS) invites you to join our newly set-up Engine Module Shop to support process improvement initiatives for engine module disassembly and assembly operations. This internship offers a cross-functional, hands-on experience to enhance Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost in the business.

Learn, understand and adopt FLIGHT DECK fundamentals, observe the engine module disassembly and assembly processes, map current state, analyze data, identify improvement

Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s Degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
  • Basic analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Basic proficiency in standard office productivity software.
  • Hands-on mindset and comfort working in a manufacturing shop/operations environment (with appropriate safety training).

Responsibilities

  • Observe engine module disassembly and assembly operations to map out current state.
  • Analyze data and identify process improvement opportunities.
  • Implement practical solutions such as ergonomics, mistake-proofing, cycle-time reduction, visual management and digitisation.

Job Description Summary

You will be joining our newly set-up Engine Module Shop to support process improvement initiatives for engine module disassembly and assembly operations. GEAESS is our largest site for engine component Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO), responsible for more than 60% of our global repair volume.

Role Overview

Learn, understand and adopt FLIGHT DECK fundamentals in helping the team to achieve Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost objectives. Observe first‑hand the engine module disassembly and assembly operations to help engineers map out current state, analyse data, identify process improvement opportunities, and implement practical solutions such as ergonomics, mistake‑proofing, cycle‑time reduction, visual management, and digitisation.

Ideal Candidate

Hands‑on and analytically minded candidates who likes problem solving and eager to work in a shop operations environment. Strong communicators and collaborative team players with an interest in lean and process improvement.

Required Qualifications
  • Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s Degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field
  • Basic analytical and problem‑solving skills
  • Basic proficiency in standard office productivity software
  • Hands‑on mindset and comfort working in a manufacturing shop/operations environment (with appropriate safety training)
Preferred Qualifications
  • Strong written and verbal communication
  • Proven ability to work effectively in cross‑functional teams
  • Exposure to Lean, continuous improvement, quality, or process improvement concepts
