Job summary

VDL ETG Singapore is seeking a skilled CNC Machinist to operate and maintain 5-axis machining centers with multi-pallet systems, ensuring high precision parts while maximizing production efficiency. The role focuses on tool setup, program execution and maintaining safe shopfloor practices.

You will review CAD drawings, calibrate tools, monitor quality using GD&T and inspection methods, and keep documentation up to date.

Qualifications

Knowledge of Heidenhain control system operation; Soflex/Fastems experience is advantageous.
Soflex/Fastems manufacturing systems experience advantageous.
Knowledge of machining processes, cutting tools, and fixture setup.
Understanding of coolant management systems.
Knowledge of quality control and inspection methods.
Understanding of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing).
Familiarity with measurement tools.
Understanding machine calibration procedures.
Basic mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
Knowledge of safety procedures and protocols.

Responsibilities

Install, align and secure tools, fixtures and workpieces on the milling machine.
Review CAD drawings and blueprints to understand specifications.
Produce parts according to drawings and instructions.
Ensure shopfloor activities comply with documented procedures.
Ensure parts meet drawing/specification requirements.
Work efficiently based on priorities within the allocated time.
Maintain 5S housekeeping standards at all times.
Identify and flag machine damages or issues hindering tasks.
Update documents to track project progress.
