Job summary

GRAND VENTURE TECHNOLOGY PRIVATE LIMITED in Singapore is seeking a CNC Machinist/Operator to perform precision machining, including milling, drilling and grinding, following engineering drawings and GD&T. You will load materials, set up tooling and offsets, run tests, and monitor quality during production.

The role requires hands-on setup, inspection and basic troubleshooting in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Familiarity with Mazak, VMC, HMC and 5-axis machining is advantageous.

Qualifications

• Read engineering drawings and GD&T.
• Experience with machine setup and tool setting.
• Ability to perform first-piece checks and measurements.
• Knowledge of surface and centerless grinding is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Operate CNC machines for milling, drilling, grinding and precision operations.
• Read drawings, GD&T and tolerances to determine machining needs.
• Load raw materials, fixtures and tooling; perform machine setup and offsets.
• Conduct test runs and first-piece checks to verify conformance.
• Monitor production and adjust parameters to maintain quality and productivity.
• Inspect finished parts using measuring instruments for dimensional accuracy.
• Troubleshoot machining or equipment issues and escalate if needed.
• Perform daily machine checks and routine maintenance.

Job description

Duties and Responsibilities

• Operate CNC machines to perform machining processes such as milling, drilling, grinding and other precision machining operations.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, GD&T and dimensional tolerances to understand machining requirements.
• Prepare and load raw materials, workpieces, tooling and fixtures onto machines.
• Perform machine setup, tool setting, offset adjustment and parameter adjustments according to machining requirements.
• Conduct test runs and first-piece checks to ensure machined parts meet the required specifications.
• Operate and monitor machines during production and make necessary adjustments to maintain quality and productivity.
• Inspect and measure finished products using appropriate measuring instruments to ensure compliance with dimensional and quality requirements.
• Perform basic troubleshooting and identify machining or equipment issues; elevate to the relevant team when required.
• Carry out daily machine checks and basic maintenance to ensure machines are in good working condition.
• Maintain proper standards of quality, safety, productivity and 5S in the workplace.
• Perform other duties and ad hoc assignments as required by the supervisor.
  

Position Requirements

• Relevant experience as a CNC Machinist / CNC Machine Operator in a precision machining or manufacturing environment.
• Able to read and understand engineering drawings, GD&T and dimensional tolerances.
• Familiar with cutting tools, tooling, fixtures, measuring instruments and machining processes.
• Hands-on experience in machine setup, tool setting, offset adjustment and basic troubleshooting.
• Experience with one or more of the following machines will be an advantage:
