Qualifications

• 3–5 years of hands-on CNC milling/lathe experience required.

• Familiar with tooling selection, feeds & speeds, and tool wear compensation.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate CNC 4-axis and 5-axis milling/lathe machines.
• Interpret drawings, GD&T specs, and technical documentation.
• Load materials, perform setup, and verify tooling configuration.
• Inspect parts with calipers, micrometers, height gauges, and inspection tools.
• Optimize machine settings and tool paths for accuracy and surface finish.
• Perform routine machine maintenance and troubleshoot issues.
• Monitor performance to meet quality and delivery targets.
• Maintain logs and inspection reports for traceability.
• Collaborate with Engineering, QA, and Production on improvements.

Job Summary:

The Machinist – CNC 4 & 5 Axisis responsible forsetting up,operating, andmaintainingadvanced CNC milling and lathe machines to support high-precision manufacturing operations. The role requires strong technical competency in machining processes, blueprint interpretation, tooling optimisation, and quality control within a precision engineering environment.

Responsibilities

1. Set up andoperateCNC 4-axis and 5-axis milling/lathe machines, including machines such as DMG Mori, Haas, Mazak, and You Ji
2. Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, GD&T specifications, and technical documentation accurately
3. Load raw materials, perform machine setup, and ensure proper tooling configuration before production runs
4. Inspect finished components using precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, height gauges, and other inspection tools
5. Optimise and adjust machine settings, tooling parameters, and tool paths to ensure dimensional accuracy andrequiredsurface finish quality
6. Perform routine machine maintenance and troubleshoot machining or equipment issues during production
7. Monitor machining performance and ensure production output meets quality and delivery requirements
8. Maintainaccurateproduction records, machine logs, and inspection reports
9. Collaborate closely with Engineering, Quality Assurance, and Production teams on process improvements and operational efficiency initiatives
10. Ensure compliance with company safety procedures, operational standards, and shop floor best practices
11. Perform any ad-hoc duties or assignments assigned by Supervisor

Job Requirement

1. MinimumNITEC / Higher NITEC / Diploma in Precision Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related discipline
2. At least 3–5 years of hands-on experience in CNC milling and/or lathe machining
3. Experience in high-precision manufacturing environments such as semiconductor, medical, aerospace, or defense industries is an advantage
4. Proficient in operating CNC 4-axis and 5-axis machines
5. Familiar with CNC machine brands such as DMG Mori, Haas, Mazak, and You Ji
6. Knowledge of G-code programming and operation of CAM software such as Mastercam, Fusion 360, or equivalent
7. Skilled in reading and interpreting mechanical drawings, GD&T requirements, and CAD/CAM files
8. Familiar with toolingselection, feeds & speeds calculation, and tool wear compensation techniques
9. Strong problem-solving skills and troubleshooting capability in machining operations
10. Good communicationand teamwork skills with the ability to collaborate across departments
11. Able to work independently with minimal supervision in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
12. Strong attention to detail, quality mindset, and commitment to workplace safety
13. Willing to work in the East region (Changi North Crescent, Singapore)
