Job summary

The Talent People Pte. Ltd. is seeking a Software Engineer to join our client’s technology team in Singapore. You will build, maintain, and enhance software systems powering their machines and internal operations, collaborating with engineering and production teams.

Responsibilities cover backend services, APIs, and system integrations across the SDLC, with opportunities to contribute to PLC programming and automation projects. Strong coding skills and problem solving are essential.

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in computer science, software engineering, IT, or related field.
• Proficiency in at least one programming language (Python, C#, Java, JavaScript, or equivalent).
• Hands-on PLC programming experience with Siemens/AB/Mitsubishi/Omron/Beckhoff and able to code.
• Understanding of software development principles and version control (Git).
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Good communication, able to work independently and in teams.

Our client is a leading manufacturer of standard, custom, and electronic machines serving the connector, semiconductor, quartz, and precision engineering industries. Founded in 2003 and headquartered in Woodlands, Singapore, we operate across Singapore, Malaysia, China, and Indonesia.

About the Role

They are looking for a Software Engineer to join our growing technology team — building, maintaining, and enhancing the software systems that power our machines and internal operations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain software applications supporting the client's machines and operational systems

• Collaborate with engineering and production teams to translate requirements into technical solutions

• Build and maintain backend services, APIs, and system integrations

• Participate in the full SDLC — design, development, testing, deployment, and support

• Troubleshoot and resolve software defects in a timely manner

• Document software systems, processes, and technical specifications

Requirements:

• Diploma or Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, IT, or related discipline

• Proficiency in at least one programming language (Python, C#, Java, JavaScript, or equivalent)

• Hands-on PLC programming exp (Siemens/AB/Mitsubishi/Omron/Beckhoff) who can also code.

• Understanding of software development principles and version control (e.g. Git)

• Strong problem-solving ability and attention to detail

Nice-to-haves:

• Exposure to industrial automation, precision engineering, or manufacturing environments

• Familiarity with MySQL or MSSQL databases
