Job summary

GLOBAL RECRUITMENT AGENCY in Singapore seeks an automation engineer with 2+ years in the semiconductor sector to develop PLC and HMI software, design electrical schematics, and manage BOMs. You will work across SDLC stages to deliver robust automation solutions.

The role involves onsite support, troubleshooting, and collaboration with multiple departments to meet client requirements and project timelines.

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in a relevant engineering discipline.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in automation/semiconductor industries.

Responsibilities

• Follow the SDLC to develop high quality, maintainable software meeting user requirements.
• Draft functional and detailed design specifications.
• Interpret client requirements to identify design parameters and ensure solutions meet budgets and schedules.
• Participate in control system requirement analysis.
• Design and update electrical schematics drawings.
• Source and select electrical components, prepare and issue BOM.
• Program PLC and HMI, implement, test and debug systems.
• Maintain detailed documentation.
• Coordinate with departments to meet customer requirements and project schedules.
• Perform basic electrical wiring and troubleshooting.
• Analyze existing software for modifications and improvements.
• Meet project schedules and resolve software/electrical issues promptly.
• Support remote and on-site troubleshooting at customer sites.

Responsibilities:

• Follow the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) to develop a high quality and maintainable software that meets user’s requirement.
• Drafting of functional and detailed design specifications
• Based on client requirements, interpret and identify design parameters, ensure solutions are implemented accurately and within budget to meet project requirements and schedules
• Participate in control system requirement analysis
• Design, create detailed electrical schematics drawings and updating.
• Source and select Electrical Components, Preparation, and Issue of BOM
• Software Programming (PLC and HMI), System Implementation, Testing, Debugging.
• Maintain detailed documentation
• Coordinate with relevant department to meet customer requirement and keep to project schedules
• Perform basic electrical wiring and troubleshooting
• Analyze existing software and identify areas for modification and improvement
• Keep to project schedules and resolve software and electrical issues in a timely manner
• Support Remote and On-site troubleshooting at customer’s sites

Requirement:

• Diploma / Degree in relevant Engineering discipline.
• Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in the automation/semiconductor industry.
• Candidates will be offered a senior position based on qualification and/or experience.
• Strong programming skills in PLC and HMI.
• Preferably Omron and Mitsubishi PLC, Proface HMI
• Added Advantage: Programming skills in Motion Control, Analog, PIDs, Process Control, and knowledge of high-end fieldbus communication (eg. Modbus, EtherCAT, EIP)
