Job summary

Job description

We are looking for an experienced and hands-on Plant Manager to lead the development and operations of our new sustainable waste management facility.

You will be responsible for the facility from project development and commissioning through to the day-to-day operations of the plant, ensuring that Safety, Environment and Health (SEH) standards are maintained, while ensuring efficient operations and compliance with regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with Singapore Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) requirements and relevant environmental and quality standards.
• Implement safety programmes, risk assessments, safe work procedures and emergency response measures.
• Lead workplace incident investigations and ensure appropriate corrective actions are taken.
• Build and lead a strong team and promote a culture of safety, accountability and continuous improvement.
• Work closely with government authorities, contractors, consultants, suppliers and senior management.
• Lead the development and commissioning of the new facility and oversee its subsequent operations.
• Manage project schedules, budgets, contractors, consultants, suppliers and regulatory approvals.
• Oversee the installation, testing and commissioning of plant machinery and equipment.
• Take overall responsibility for daily plant operations, production, maintenance, manpower and operating costs.
• Monitor plant performance and KPIs, and drive improvements in productivity, reliability, quality and efficiency.
• Lead maintenance programmes to ensure plant reliability and minimise downtime.
• Drive the use of automation, digital technology and process improvements.

Requirements

• Relevant WSH qualification/ certification and good knowledge of Singapore WSH requirements.
• Familiarity with risk assessments, safe work procedures, permit-to-work systems and incident investigations.
• Knowledge of ISO 45001, ISO14001, ISO 9001 and BizSAFE requirements will be an advantage.
• 5 – 8 years of relevant experience in plant operations, project management, manufacturing, industrial, environmental or related sectors.
• Proven experience managing projects from planning and construction through commissioning and operational handover.
• Experience in waste management, recycling, environmental services or industrial processing will be an advantage.
• Strong experience with industrial machinery, equipment installation and commissioning.
• Strong leadership, communication, organisational and problem-solving skills.
• Hands-on, proactive and commercially minded, with the ability to manage multiple stakeholders and priorities.
