Responsibilities

• Study Client specifications, contract documents and scope of work.
• Review vendors’ documentation, ITP, drawings and related procedures.
• Witness PQR, WPS and welder qualification tests for compliance.
• Liaise with Construction/Project Manager on quality issues.
• Participate in kick-off meetings and track milestones.
• Verify NDT operator and welder qualifications, material certificates and traceability.
• Perform quality surveillance of fabrication including material, inspection and weld visuals.
• Ensure compliance with approved WPS and QC procedures.
• Supervise fabrication activities for fit-up, tack welds and surface cleanliness.
• Monitor pre-heat / inter-pass temperature, weaving width and heat input.
• Check welding parameters and essential variables periodically.
• Witness PMI activities.
• Stage-wise inspection of fabrication and erection against drawings.
• Ensure post weld heat treatment and NDT meet codes and standards.
• Identify fabrication or erection problems and report to Construction Manager.
• Prepare lesson plans to avoid recurring fabrication problems.
• Perform any other duties as assigned by Supervisor/Manager.

PIPINGENGINEER

Job Description

• Through study of Client specification, contract document and Scope of work, Client based procedures.
• Review of Vendors’ documentation, ITP, Drawings, Standard Work Methods and Related Procedures to align with Project requirements.
• Witnessing of PQR, WPS and Welder Qualification Tests compliance with relevant codes, standards, and specifications.
• Liaise with the Construction Manager / Project Manager for all quality issues.
• Participating in kick-off meetings and follow-up the milestones and feedback to the Construction Manager periodically.
• Verifying NDT Operator qualification, Welder qualification, Material receiving inspection (Mill Certificate), Traceability, NDT Equipment calibration and all other testing equipment calibration certificate etc.,
• Quality Surveillance of fabrication such as raw material verification, consumable controlling, dimensional & fit-up inspection, Visual inspection of completed weld.
• Ensure strict compliance with approved WPS and QC procedure in all welding jobs.
• Supervise the fabrication activities in relation to fit-up, tack weld, joint surface cleanness.
• Pre-heat / inter-pass temperature maintenance, adherence of weaving width, heat input and root inspection meet the applicable code specification or standard.
• Check the welding parameters and all essential variables periodically.
• Witness PMI activities.
• Stage wise inspection of fabrication and erection works with respect to approved drawings and standards.
• Ensure that post weld heat treatment, hardness tests and NDT are in compliance with the relevant codes and Standards.
• Identifying fabrication problem, Structural erection problems to Construction Manager periodically and make a lesson plan to avoid the same problem in future fabrication.
• Any other responsibilities or tasks as assigned by your Supervisor/Manager.
