Job summary

Hanwha Offshore Engineering Services Singapore Pte. Ltd. seeks a seasoned Welding Engineer to qualify and approve welding procedures, manage ISO 3834 compliance, and support site-based welding activities for major fabrication projects.

You will coordinate with clients and classification bodies, develop WPS for projects, monitor equipment calibration, perform surveillance inspections, and drive continuous improvements in welding processes and quality at the fabrication yard in Singapore.

Qualifications

• Masters degree in Welding or equivalent.
• At least 5 years of welding engineer experience in a fabrication yard.

Responsibilities

• Qualify and approve Welding Procedure Specification (WPS) and Procedure Qualification Record (PQR).
• Review Welder Qualification Tests and materials list (Carbon Steel, low temperature steel, duplex stainless, CuNi, Inconel, SS).
• Prepare welding-related procedures for projects and support ISO 3834 welding management system implementation and certification.
• Ensure welding consumable control system is in place and monitored at site.
• Identify and develop WPS for projects based on codes and project specs.
• Establish welding sequence to minimize distortion on structures.
• Coordinate with client and classification society on welding issues at site.
• Update and release qualification welder lists for modules/projects.
• Monitor calibration of welding equipment and inspection instruments.

• Responsible to qualify and approve the Welding Procedure Specification, Procedure Qualification Record, Welder Qualification Test of materials like Carbon Steel, Low Temperature Carbon Steel, High Yield Carbon Steel, Duplex Stainless Steel, Super Duplex Stainless Steel, CuNi, Inconel, SS, Overlayed pipes.




• Preparation of welding related procedures for projects and support ISO 3834 welding management system implementation and certification.




• Ensure Welding consumable control system is in place and followed up during issue, usage at site.




• Identify and develop the WPS for the project based on Construction codes and project specifications.




• Establish welding sequence for the structure to minimize of control the distortion.




• Co-ordinate with Client and Classification body on welding related issues at site on day to day basis.




• To ensure regular updating and release of the Qualification welder list for module specific for the project.




• Monitor calibration of Welding equipment and other measuring instrument used for inspection of welding




• Perform surveillance inspections related to following WPS requirements at site.




• Responsible to trouble shot the problems related to Welding.




• Establish welding sequence for critical structure to minimize/control distortion.




• Prepare and conduct Project Specific Inductions/workshops/tool/box talk about welding control requirements. -Welding defect analysis and implementation of correction and corrective actions.




• Coordinate with production team on corrective measures related to welding issues.




• Propose improvements in welding process, products etc.
