Overview
Perform technical duties under the supervision of pharmacists to ensure safe, efficient and timely distribution of drugs in AH.
Assist the pharmacist in-charge to provide supervision to pharmacy support staff and to coordinate activities within a section to ensure smooth workflow and continuous improvement.
Dispense medicines to the patients according to department policies and guidelines.
Job Responsibilities
- Pharmacy Operational duties
- Perform simple dispensing of medication in accordance with legal requirements and service standards
- Processing medication orders
- Picking, packing and labelling of medicines in accordance to Standard Operating Procedures (SOP)
- Perform the following medication reconciliation steps: counting, sorting and typing of prescriptions
- Performs simple review and interventions for selected drug groups
- Perform billing functions
- Provision of quality customer service
- Provide professional and courteous service to all patients/customers
- Inventory and Expiry Date Management
- Ensure stocks are stocked up properly and tidily according to FEST-in-First-Out requirement and stipulate storage conditions
- Carry out cycle counts and stock accurately and accordingly to the Standard Operating Procedures
- Comply with medication safety practices in the pharmacy
- Involve in quality improvement projects when required
Requirements
- Possess Certified Pharmacy Technician Certification (CPTC) OR Diploma in Pharmaceutical Science OR foreign Pharmacy degree (not recognized by Singapore Pharmacy Council)
- Have initiative and able to work independently to achieve goals of the department
- Able to communicate effectively
- Able to function effectively as member of a team
- Able to prioritize and organize work well
- Flexibility to work on weekends/ public holidays occasionally
This is a 2-year contract position. Renewal of the contract will be subject to satisfactory performance and vacancy availability.
