Job summary

National University Polyclinics is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to assist pharmacists in ensuring safe, efficient, and timely distribution of drugs. You will support supervision of staff, coordinate within the section, and maintain smooth workflow per SOPs.

Responsibilities include dispensing medicines, processing orders, packing and labeling, medication reconciliation, and billing. You will help sustain quality customer service and participate in inventory control and compliance initiatives.

Qualifications

• Must have CPTC certification OR Diploma in Pharmaceutical Science OR foreign pharmacy degree not recognized by Singapore Pharmacy Council.
• Ability to work independently and take initiative to meet department goals.
• Able to communicate effectively and work well in a team.

Job description

Perform technical duties under the supervision of pharmacists to ensure safe, efficient and timely distribution of drugs in AH.

Assist the pharmacist in-charge to provide supervision to pharmacy support staff and to coordinate activities within a section to ensure smooth workflow and continuous improvement.

Dispense medicines to the patients according to department policies and guidelines.

Job Responsibilities

• Perform simple dispensing of medication in accordance with legal requirements and service standards
• Processing medication orders
• Picking, packing and labelling of medicines in accordance to Standard Operating Procedures (SOP)
• Perform the following medication reconciliation steps: counting, sorting and typing of prescriptions
• Performs simple review and interventions for selected drug groups
• Perform billing functions

Provision of quality customer service

• Provide professional and courteous service to all patients/customers

Inventory and Expiry Date Management

• Ensure stocks are stocked up properly and tidily according to FEST-in-First-Out requirement and stipulate storage conditions
• Carry out cycle counts and stock accurately and accordingly to the Standard Operating Procedures

Comply with medication safety practices in the pharmacy

Involve in quality improvement projects when required

Requirements

• Possess Certified Pharmacy Technician Certification (CPTC) OR Diploma in Pharmaceutical Science OR foreign Pharmacy degree (not recognized by Singapore Pharmacy Council)
• Have initiative and able to work independently to achieve goals of the department
• Able to communicate effective
• Able to function effectively as member of a team
• Able to prioritize and organize work well
• Flexibility to work on weekends/ public holidays occasionally

This is a 2-year contract position. Renewal of the contract will be subject to satisfactory performance and vacancy availability.
