Job summary

Roastworks Coffee is seeking a dedicated Full-Time Barista to join our night shift team at our Central Singapore location. You will deliver high-quality espresso-based beverages and warm, efficient service while upholding cafe standards.

With 1+ year of barista or cafe experience, you will work in a fast-paced environment, collaborate with the team, and help maintain cleanliness, stock, and safety while providing an exceptional customer experience.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of barista or café experience.
• Basic knowledge of espresso preparation and coffee equipment.
• Passion for coffee and genuine interest in specialty coffee.
• Good customer service and communication skills.
• Able to work shifts, weekends and public holidays when required.
• Reliable, punctual and responsible.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve espresso-based coffee, brewed coffee and other beverages to Roastworks Coffee standards.
• Operate espresso machines, grinders and other café equipment safely and effectively.
• Dial in coffee and adjust to achieve consistent extraction.
• Maintain beverage quality, presentation and portioning.
• Prepare non-coffee beverages and other menu items as per recipes.
• Develop understanding of coffee origins, roast profiles and tasting notes.

Position: Supervisor

Employment Type: Full-Time

Location: Central, Singapore

Working Hours: 44 hours per week, including weekends and public holidays where required

ABOUT THE ROLE

We are looking for a passionate and enthusiastic Full-Time Barista to join the Roastworks Coffee team during the night shift.

As a Barista, you will be responsible for delivering consistently excellent coffee and beverages while providing warm, efficient and friendly service to every customer.

You will be part of a modern, coffee-forward environment where we value quality, consistency, hospitality and teamwork.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Coffee & Beverage Preparation

• Prepare and serve espresso-based coffee, brewed coffee and other beverages according to Roastworks Coffee standards.
• Operate espresso machines, grinders and other café equipment safely and effectively.
• Dial in coffee and make appropriate adjustments to achieve consistent extraction.
• Maintain consistency in beverage quality, presentation and portioning.
• Prepare non-coffee beverages and other menu items according to standard recipes.
• Develop a good understanding of coffee origins, roast profiles and tasting notes.

Customer Service

• Welcome customers warmly and provide attentive, friendly service.
• Take orders accurately and process payments efficiently.
• Recommend coffee and beverages based on customers' preferences.
• Handle customer enquiries and feedback professionally.
• Create a positive and welcoming café experience.

Café Operations

• Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the bar and café throughout the day.
• Carry out opening and closing procedures.
• Ensure coffee equipment, utensils and workstations are cleaned and maintained properly.
• Monitor inventory and communicate stock requirements to the supervisor.
• Assist with receiving, storing and organising café supplies.
• Follow all food safety, hygiene and workplace safety standards.

Teamwork

• Work closely with fellow baristas and café team members to ensure smooth daily operations.
• Support teammates during busy periods.
• Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members.
• Participate in training, coffee calibration and product knowledge sessions.
• Contribute ideas to improve café operations, service and customer experience.

REQUIREMENTS

Essential

• Minimum 1 year of barista or café experience preferred.
• Basic knowledge of espresso preparation and coffee equipment.
• Passion for coffee and genuine interest in specialty coffee.
• Good customer service and communication skills.
• Positive attitude with a willingness to learn.
• Able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Reliable, punctual and responsible.
• Good personal hygiene and grooming standards.
• Able to work shifts, weekends and public holidays when required.
