Position Overview

The PDI Supervisor is responsible for supervising and controlling all Pre-Delivery Inspection (PDI) activities to ensure that new vehicles are inspected, prepared and released in accordance with the manufacturer's standards, company requirements and customer delivery expectations. This position will be responsible for PDI quality, productivity, defect identification, rectification follow-up, vehicle readiness and team performance.

Responsibilities
PDI Operations
  • Plan and assign daily PDI work to PDI technicians/staff.
  • Ensure all vehicles undergo the required PDI inspection before delivery.
  • Ensure PDI is carried out according to the manufacturer's PDI checklist and procedures.
  • Conduct and supervise vehicle inspections including but not limited to, system diagnostics, safety checks, EV/charging checks, and road tests as required.
  • Ensure vehicle software and system updates are completed where applicable.
  • Ensure all accessories and customer-requested items are correctly installed.
Quality Control
  • Perform final Quality Check (QC) inspection before vehicle release.
  • Identify manufacturing defects, transport damage, missing items and PDI-related defects.
  • Ensure defects are properly recorded with photographs and supporting documentation.
  • Prevent vehicles with unresolved safety or quality issues from being released.
  • Verify that rectification work has been properly completed before final approval.
  • Maintain a high standard of vehicle presentation and delivery quality.
Vehicle Damage & Defect Management
  • Inspect vehicles upon arrival and identify any defects including, transport damage, body and paint defects, glass damage, wheel and tyre damage, interior damage, missing accessories and electrical/electronic defects
  • Coordinate with the logistics, workshop, warranty and parts teams for rectification.
  • Maintain a defect tracking record for every affected vehicle.
  • Follow up outstanding defects until closure.
  • Escalate major or repeated defects to the Aftersales Manager.
Documentation & System Records
  • Maintain accurate PDI checklists, inspection records and defect reports.
  • Ensure defect/damage photos are properly documented
  • Maintain daily PDI output and outstanding defect reports.
  • Update vehicle status and records in the system.
  • Ensure completed PDI records can be traced to the individual vehicle and technician responsible.
  • Coordinate with Sales, Logistics and Aftersales to ensure vehicle readiness information is accurate.
Vehicle Handover & Delivery Readiness
  • Ensure defects are rectified
  • Ensure vehicle presentation and accessories are in order
  • Verify documents and EV equipment are complete
  • Check sufficient State of Charge (SOC) for delivery
Key Skills & Experience
  • Relevant automotive technical qualification or equivalent certification in an automotive-related field.
  • Minimum 3 to 5 years of hands-on experience in an automotive workshop environment, preferably in Pre-Delivery Inspection (PDI), vehicle inspection, or a related quality control function, with prior supervisory experience.
  • Strong knowledge of automotive mechanical and electrical systems.
  • Experience with Electric Vehicles (EVs) and high-voltage systems will be an added advantage.
  • Good understanding of vehicle inspection standards, quality control processes, and defect identification.
  • Proficient in basic computer applications and documentation, with the ability to maintain accurate inspection and service records.
  • Able to work effectively under delivery timelines and manage priorities in a fast-paced workshop environment.
  • Strong attention to detail, with a high level of quality awareness and commitment to maintaining vehicle standards.
