Job summary

Tan Tock Seng Hospital is seeking a Financial Counselling Patient Service Associate to support patients and families with financial guidance and admission coordination within the Integrated Care Hub. You will explain healthcare financing options and ensure a smooth admission experience, acting as a key touchpoint throughout the patient journey.

The role requires prior customer service experience, strong communication skills, and proficiency in MS Office.

Qualifications

• Diploma/NITEC in any discipline; GCE A/O/N Levels acceptable.
• Prior experience in customer service or frontline operations is advantageous.
• Good interpersonal and communication skills with a service-oriented approach.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and basic computer applications.
• Able to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks.

Responsibilities

• Provide financial counselling on hospital charges, subsidies, and payment options.
• Review and process patient referrals, admissions and transfers according to guidelines.
• Coordinate with healthcare professionals and internal stakeholders to facilitate admissions.
• Manage admission documentation and patient records using hospital systems (EPIC, NBS, eFC).
• Handle patient and next-of-kin enquiries related to admissions, billing and services.
• Process payments and support front-counter administrative operations.
• Monitor referral and admission workflows to ensure timely follow-up and service delivery.
• Maintain accurate records and reports in compliance with requirements.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and projects.

Overview

As a Financial Counselling Patient Service Associate in Integrated Care Hub (ICH), you will support patients and their families by providing financial counselling, explaining healthcare financing and payment options, and facilitating a smooth admission process. As a key touchpoint in the patient journey, you will play an important role in delivering a seamless, supportive and positive patient experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide financial counselling on hospital charges, subsidies, financial assistance schemes and payment options.
• Review and process patient referrals, admissions and transfers according to established guidelines.
• Coordinate with healthcare professionals, referring institutions and internal stakeholders to facilitate patient admissions.
• Manage admission documentation, referral outcomes and patient records using hospital systems. (e.g. EPIC, NBS, eFC).
• Handle patient and next-of-kin enquiries related to admissions, billing and hospital services.
• Process payments and support front-counter administrative operations.
• Monitor referral and admission workflows to ensure timely follow‑up and service delivery.
• Maintain accurate records and reports in compliance with departmental and regulatory requirements.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and other departmental projects.

Requirements

• Diploma, NITEC/Higher NITEC in any discipline, GCE 'A'/'O'/'N' Level.
• Prior experience in customer service, frontline operations or a service-related role would be advantageous.
• Good interpersonal and communication skills, with a service-oriented and empathetic approach when interacting with patients and their families.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and comfortable using basic computer applications.
• Able to work effectively in a fast‑paced and dynamic environment, manage multiple tasks simultaneously and respond appropriately to changing operational needs.
• Meticulous and able to handle financial and administrative information accurately.
• 5 days work week.
